Prologue

The wedding is the milestone for two lives that make a promise so sacred as to require divine benediction for some measure of grace to keep it through the years. The full import of the covenant sealed with the utterance “I do” will open possibilities of happiness and grief that single-blessedness cannot afford. On these two unpretentious words, a marriage begins, marked by rituals and pageantry.

A wedding is a community event where family and friends stand with the betrothed couple offering their gifts, felicitations and prayers to start them off on their life together.

MARRIAGE.
One word, eight letters but define the love between two individuals, it is how they show their affections towards each other. Marriage is a big event that cannot be mistaken because if you marry someone, you need to make sure that you truly love him or her.

Pero para sa akin...para sa akin lamang dahil sarili kong opinyon.

Bakit kailangan mo bang ikasal para mapatunayan o maipakita mo sa taong mahal mo na talagang mahal mo siya?

Hindi rin naman noh? Pero parang andami pang arte at mga pakulo.

Being a wedding organizer is not easy because you need to grant someone else's dream wedding.

Hindi ko alam kung bakit ito ang isang pinili kong trabaho dahil ako yung tipo ng tao na ayaw makakita ng mga ikinakasal tapos pagkaraan lang ng ilang taon may sira na agad yung pagsasama nila at hahantong sa hiwalayan.

Ganyan yung ikot ng buhay mag-asawa.

Hindi ko naman sinasabing lahat ng may nagpakasal at may asawa na ay ganun na ang kinahinatnan pero dahil sa namuhay ako sa hirap...I know how life works.

It not about living in a fairytale with your prince charming, having a happy family, being happy and contented kahit wala na kayong makain basta matatag lang ang pagmamahalan ninyo...ang importante ay magkasama kayo at nag-iibigan–

Uhh no! That's a big fat lie! That's not how life works.

Love cannot feed you.

Hindi ka bubuhayin ng pagmamahal.

Love cannot save you from being miserable.

Hindi buburahin lahat ng pagmamahal ang mga problema mong pasan sa mundo.

Love can give you temporary happiness and permanent sadness.

Oh diba? Kapag ganyan...iibig ka paba?

Of course...not.

Napalingon naman ako sa mga taong nagsisidatingan habang ang mga mukha ay nalulukot at mukhang mga problemado.

I knotted my forehead because curiosity gotten into me.

Okay, what's happening? What's going on?

May mga tao rin na nagsidatingan at halos lahat sila ay malapit ng magkakamukha dahil sa pagkalukot ng mga mukha nila na mukhang problemadong-problemado...mukha rin silang kinakabahan na ewan hindi ko maipaliwanag.

“I heard Gwyne is missing?” someone uttered and because of the loudness of her voice, I can hear it here where I stand.

Tahimik lang ako habang nakatingin sa mga taong mukhang malapit ng magkagulo dahil sa hindi maipintang ekspresyon sakanilang mga mukha.

Napatingin ako sa babaeng sumagot sa tanong ng isang babae kanina.

“Yes, and she's been missing two days from now” hindi maikaila ang pag-aalala sa boses ng babaeng medyo may edad na “He would totally be devastated” she added.
