JANUARY, 2026
Kwon Boram's POV
The diamond shined wonderfully beneath the sun, reflecting lights that sparkled before my eyes and causing a smile to appear on my lips, replacing the frown of exhaustion brought upon by the toxicity of today's work.
I stood by the post of light in front of the company building, patiently waiting for the arrival of my fiance, who promised to take me out on a delicious meal.
Fiance.
I giggled by myself at that thought. It's been a year and a half since we were engaged, and I still feel giddy every time, especially since we're considering our wedding date. The exact date hasn't been decided, but we are thinking of holding it during spring and near summer, a perfect time to signify our blossoming and igniting love, and it's around four months from now. However, of course, this is still subject to change.
We promised to marry last year, but as patient as he has ever been, he was even the one to propose delaying the wedding this year, being that working a new job and planning the wedding at the same time may push me too much. We both want our heads to focus entirely on arranging the wedding with lessened worries and troubles.
Things have been quite busy for me, working from nine to five every week as a marketing staff in a skincare company. However, I actually feel better and more in control of my life than I did as a working student who juggled her time between work, sleep, and studies and barely got that eight-hour sleep requirement daily.
My schedule allowed us to meet a few times every evening, either going on a date or spending time in each other's houses depending on our mood, and spending time with his house mostly meant we were into doing something beyond people's imagination.
I've noticed that what we do in the bedroom upgrades every time. He doesn't run out of ideas, putting more spice and flavor to what we have already established. It's wild, but I find myself always liking them a lot.
Soon, his car pulled over in front of me, and I no longer waited for him to go down and open my door.
"Hi, Love," I greeted happily as I sat down.
"Where's my kiss?" He asked, pointing to his cheek, which I kissed immediately. I sat down properly after and buckled my seatbelt.
"I was thinking about taking you out on an eat-all-you-can Chinese buffet, but maybe you have anything else in mind?" He asked, driving away.
"That sounds great. I was actually craving lemon chicken earlier."
At the restaurant, we were stuffing ourselves with their unlimited dim sum, which was extremely tasty. I was worried it would be mostly extender meat because it was a buffet, but I was wrong. They were incredibly juicy and tender, too.
"Should we just get married on your birthday?" He asked, opening the topic about our wedding.
"Why not your birthday?" I asked back.
"Yours is the middle of summer, and mine is towards the end of autumn, entering winter. The atmosphere is, not going to lie, a bit sad because of the falling leaves and barren trees." Then he paused, thinking. "Let's get married on the day I proposed to you then?"
I thought about it for a second and nodded. "Sure. That seems fine. I heard it should be at least five months to prepare for a wedding properly."
"Great. How would you like to have our wedding then?" He asked again.
"I've thought about it, and I want something intimate. Just us and our loved ones, but how about you?"
"I was thinking something grand." He pouted, looking away.
