She finally came to a stop when she felt like her heart was going to jump out of her chest. Her muscles ached and tears streamed all over her face. Partly from the pain on her right ankle and the bottom of her feet. But most of all, because Lina isn't the best friend she knew anymore, and because she was doomed right now since there was no way Dr. Novak was going to let her live after this especially when she finds out about her attempting to escape her testing patients. Or more likely she'll kill her because she knows about the tanks and whatever inhuman activity that is going on in this underground organization place.

There was a corner turn and a straight path forward, she turned on the corner instead of going straight again. Her running gradually slowed down to a walk until she completely stopped. She leaned against the wall right after turning the corner for support, slowly sliding down to rest her legs.

She leans her back against the wall, extending her legs out and sliding down so she can sit. She moves her right ankle just the slightest bit, the attempt causing incredible pain. She quickly stops and rests it down instead. Her breathing was uneven, or more like she's still panting from her run, how long has she ran for? How long has it been since Lina called Dr. Novak on her?

She didn't know and the pain swobbing in her ankle took most of her energy away. You'd think that when you first started to run right after twisting your ankle would be a hell lot of pain and that's the worst part. But no, it's when you suddenly stop running to rest, the knowledge of the pain overtakes you, and panic overtakes along with the strengthened pain from your run, that's when the worst part of it all really starts.

She lifted her leg to examine the bottom of her feet, her left leg since any movement on her right leg enforced pain to her twisted ankle. Without shoes, not even those hard to walk in heels, the skin below is scraped and scratched. Her feet looked ruined and scared for life, at least that's what it felt like when she stared at it with hopelessness and despair. It hurted, just like her ankle, once smooth skin at the bottom of her feet is now ripped, revealing her flesh and redness of blood.

She closed her eyes and leaned back harder against the wall, sitting in pain. She bit down on her tongue, trying to apply the pain on her feet and ankle somewhere else.

She wanted to scream, she wanted to rest somewhere, she wanted anything, safety which she has just lost.

None of that was really an option right now though, not even the scream since it might cause unwanted attention.

She opens her eyes again, taking in a deep breath, and even that movement caused a twitch of pain at her right ankle. Looking around now, all she saw was the dark lit grey halls stretching for what looked like eternity. And then there was another path, the straight way she was just walking, maybe this turn in direction of the hall will lead her to the elevator. Yes, that is what she needed to find right now, the elevator. She needed to get out of this floor and to the top, to the white lobby, to the surface.

The tingling feeling in her ear, an object is in her ear. Suddenly she had hope again, remembering once again about the contact receiver still tucked safely in her ear. Reminding her of Faye's father and possibly other people that will be rescuing her and the patients. She still wondered though, how Jess contacted them and how he had gotten the contact receiver. It was Faye's and then suddenly Jess had it.

But another thought quickly strikes before she can think more about that. How was she going to work the elevator? There were about what seemed like all kinds of different buttons to get to a certain floor, how was she going to do that?

She needed help. She took the contact receiver out of her ear and stared at it in her palm for a long time.

Say the code for the other person's contact receiver then you'll be trying to contact them.
