It's been rough, Sage has been communicating with me a lot more than before so I was thankful for that. She was so upset when my parents needed to leave, but we couldn't do anything to keep them any longer since they had to go back home.
I've quickly picked up Sage's routines and to be honest, I always felt scared I was going to break it. Joe has her on one of the best routines I've ever seen a child have, she knows what to do right a way in the morning, has an eating schedule, with snacks in between, and also knows when it's time to start her night routine and never fights any of them.
While I've had Sage with me, Travis has always been on my mind. I don't know why but every time I look into Sage's face, she looks so much like Joe, it makes me so happy to see it. She was the perfect blend of us.
As I was preparing her afternoon snack plate, buttered toast and yogurt, I had gotten a text from Travis asking how Sage was. Trust me, I'm so glad that he is interested in getting to know her, but he has constantly been asking about her and also asking to meet her, not even considering Joe's opinion about it, which made me upset. I wanted Sage to meet Travis, but I want to talk more to Joe about it, especially since I don't want to confuse her after she asked me if her dad and I were getting back together.
I ignored the message and called Sage to come sit at the kitchen island.
"Wow! Bread!" She yells after looking at her plate and instantly starts chomping down on her toast.
I chuckled and pulled her hair back, putting it into a ponytail.
We didn't have much to do today, it has been raining all day which made it look gloomy outside. I've been wanting to tour Sage around the city more, but it's so hard when everyone recognizes me, even with a disguise and I didn't trust bringing Sage outside with such little security.
Sage had gotten so dirty after I let her paint and she ended up needing to take a bath, she was usually a night time bather, but this was needed. There was paint all over the table and some spots on the floor and chair, I didn't think she would be able to get this messy.
"Look at you, you've got blue hair now!" I exclaimed as I washed the blue paint out of her hair and she giggled as she made funny faces at me.
I realized after her basically ignoring me that she was my absolute favorite person ever. I felt so upset and mad at myself that she had even experienced a nightmare, even if it wasn't in my control.
"You sleeping in Mommy's bed?" I asked her as she walked towards my bedroom after changing into some nap time clothes.
When I looked at the clock it read 2 PM, she usually napped around 1 PM, so I understood why she had droopy eyes. She climbed into my bed, patted the space next to her and I slid in beside her placing rhetorical big covers over both of us.
"Be here when I wake up?" She asked looking up and me and I nodded.
"Of course my love" I said giving her a kiss on the cheek and she instantly closed her eyes.
I had a big mess to clean downstairs, but this was more important, if anything is ruined I'll just buy another.
It took a little longer for me to fall asleep and once I started to fall asleep, I felt my phone ding once again. I looked over and it was from Joe.
"Hey, work has been hectic and I won't be able to finish everything in time. Would you be able to watch Sage a little long? If you have something going on, I'll have my parents watch her." It read.
My heart started to beat faster, I had more time to spend with my daughter, I could never turn that down.
I quickly messaged him back, "Don't worry! Do what you need to do, I love having her".
