They sat there, waiting for Kae to ask his prolonged questions. He then looked up at them, a small sad smile forming on his face, they knew what he was going to ask almost immediately. Sweat ran down their faces.
"Why did you abandon me?" He asked softly, feeling upset about it. Yes, it's been weeks since they had their reunion, but when he went to their house, he wondered if they just left him, since they were all having fun and stuff.
"We didn't!" Mocha said quickly, leaning forward to Kae. "In fact, a lot has happened, we met Yakei and he decided to help us find you, Kae! We spent a long-time training to enroll in Azure Academy to find you!" She said, explaining everything that had happened while he was gone.
"You know, Yakei tried sending Mocha back home, she's not even safe here. Nothing had happened since the Griffin incident, - Mocha corrected her: the incident regarding Moon's death - but someone for sure is after her," Kyo said, pointing at her friend.
"Why would anyone be after her?" Kae said, looking at Kyo. He was confused, so much had happened, and he was given little time to comprehend all of it. "It has to be because of the book. I read through most of the pages. It explains everything, even the weak points of different species, ghosts, and even us humans!" She spoke.
"Whoever's targeting me is after the book, it's only pure luck that I kept it protected and hidden, thank goodness Viesta didn't know I had it!" Mocha said, sighing with relief. Kae tilted his head. What does she have to do with all this anyway?
"But... what does Viesta have to do with this?"
"Someone from the Shi knew my name, and who I was. They didn't mention the book though, but come on, what would they want from a random mortal who doesn't know if she's from Arcania to begin with?" Mocha said nonchalantly, as Kyo shrugged agreeingly."She has a solid point." Kyo said, and Kae nodded, he understood that. He was mentally frustrated, so he just sighed. "Okay, but Kyo, when and how are you planning on killing Kinoko?" Kae asked, turning to the white-haired girl.
Her mind was off that for a while, she didn't think it through. She would need to train though, since Kinoko is stronger than what she looks. But it didn't feel right, I mean, Hunter's only family member getting killed by her?
She'll definitely feel bad, because her family was taken from her as well, she bit her bottom lip, unsure of what to say regarding this matter. Kae understood from her face that she wasn't aware herself and needed time to think about it.
"What does the Blaze Kingdom have to do with the war ...?" Mocha asked cautiously, knowing it was a sensitive topic since they were considered refugees at the moment. "They influenced and encouraged the Sun Kingdom to attack. Damn you, Oscar's father." Kyo hissed.
Mocha nodded slowly, before getting up. "Well, I think we should let the others spend some time with Kae now, you can think about your plans of overthrowing a cat queen later." Mocha said, dragging Kyo by her arm.
They opened the door and stepped outside. The others quietly waited outside, receiving looks from the group once they stepped out. They informed them that if they wanted to spend time with Kae, they can.
Mocha goodbye Kyo, as she had promised to meet with Ruki after she was back from her small trip. The girl walked out of the hospital, greeting Nana on her way out.
Ruki was standing by a bookstore, he was holding a cup of warm coffee. He hadn't seen Mocha in a while, since they didn't meet much during the winter break. So, they decided to meet today. Just from afar, he heard his name being called.
The black-haired boy turned to the direction of Mocha, as he had a soft smile. Mocha waved at him, as she reached him. The first thing he noticed was her broken arm, he almost spat out his coffee, as he pointed at the arm quietly.
"Hah... long story, we'll need to sit down for me to explain everything!" She said slowly, gaining Ruki's interest. They began walking around the courtyard, catching up on stuff they did during the vacation. Ruki didn't do much, other than visiting new places which opened in the kingdom.
When they reached a small cafe, they took a seat inside, so they can feel the warmth hug their bodies. They sat down, as Ruki put down his coffee, signaling for Mocha to explain everything. She gulped, before playing with her thumbs slowly.
She explained to him that she went to visit the Misfit Valley with a few friends and a successor, which she didn't know how they got him to join, she was guessing Yakei said for a battle though, so she left it as that.
She explained how they met with Viesta, and how Mnemi appeared. She also explained most of the fight, skipping the boring parts. She said that she almost died, and sacrificed her left arm's strength so she wouldn't be crushed to death.
Ruki was fascinated by her story, he was shocked that she got into a battle with one of the Eighteen Lunarities. He gave comments about her story every once in a while and heard it to the very end. After she finished storytelling, Ruki called her brave for surviving all that.
"Eh, Mocha." Ruki called, as the brunette glanced at him, nervousness obvious in her eyes. Ruki showed her a kind, warm smile, as he leaned in closer to her, so they were face to face. "We got an A in our rose project." He whispered, as Mocha smacked him.
"You got me excited!" She whined, slouching in her seat while frowning. The boy chuckled, resting his head on his arms. "By the way, the rest of the class wants to hold a group hangout on the day of the festival, just us class 1-C, you in?" Ruki asked.
"If my arm gets a bit better by then, I'll probably join," She chirped, and Ruki chuckled at her sweet response. "If you don't mind, I'll add you and Kyo to the class group chat? So, you won't miss out on stuff," he said, and Mocha nodded, giving him permission to add hers.
She did tell him to ask Kyo though next time he sees her, to which he respected. After a little while, Mocha and Ruki decided to leave after spending the day together. Kyo had texted her saying they went back home, so she decided to return to see them.
