TRIGGER WARNING **

PICKING MAKENNA up from her sleepover was one of the most difficult tasks that Dovani has ever had to face while parenting her sister. The girls didn't want to be separated while Dovani is trying to basically drag her out the house while screaming and kicking.

"You will see Serenity on Monday, Snooks." Dovani frowned at the ten year olds teary eyes.

"Why'd you have to come now?" She screamed. "You could've came later!" She pouted.

Dovani raised an eyebrow. It was around 7:30 PM when she came to get her so she was curious what time was "later".

"What time is "later?" It's already seven thirty, Ken."

"Like.. tomorrow..! Or something." The girl whined. She was upset and was just tapping away on her iPad, probably a friend, Dovani guessed.

"We have somewhere to go tomorrow, sweet cakes. I'm sorry."

"You know, you don't have to talk to me like a baby. I'm eleven." She rolled her eyes. She missed the opportunity when she could talk to her like a baby. But, growing up had those perks.

"Ten." Dovani corrected her age.

"Eleven. I turn eleven next week so it counts."

"Speaking of turning eleven, what do you want to do for your birthday?" The child was never fond of celebrating her birthday since she couldn't see her father or her mother. It meant nothing to her to celebrate her life when she couldn't even see the people that gave it to her. Which led for every year, the same thing.

"Can I see daddy?" She begged. Serving twenty-five years for attempted murder, he told Dovani when he went inside to never bring her to see him, no matter what. It's been like that for almost eleven years and it wasn't fair that she couldn't spend, let alone see her father.

"You know what? Yeah, we can go see your dad." Her phone vibrated in her hand, looking at the caller ID it was from an unsaved number. This number continued to called Dovani for the past couple days but just didn't like being on the phone with people she didn't know. She tapped on the messages icon instead and typed in the number, messaging it.

Hello, who is this?

The message was sent and immediately got a message back.

It's your sister wife, babes.

Confused, she sat in her thoughts, not exactly knowing where this was going. She typed another message and sent it right after she received the first one. After sending the response, the person texted back right away again.

Excuse me?

You heard me. While you out playing "i'm in love with my bestfriend but don't wanna admit it" bs, me and your man playing house when you not where you supposed to be.

With that, her heart sank. She knew Quincy was cheating. But he had the decency to come home on some nights and still say he loved her. She sat with the phone just in her hand, taking all the emotions in.
