*TW; MURDER*
NIGHT RAGE
LATER THAT NIGHT...
2:41 AM....
THE NIGHT SLOWLY came to an end as Dovani and Semaji walked hand in hand down the dark streets of NYC back to his brand new car.
As Dovani and Semaji neared the sleek lines of the new car under the dim street lamps, a chilling figure emerged from the shadows—Quincy, Dovani's ex-boyfriend, whose obsession had led to a horrifying tragedy. Dovani hadn't seen him since the accident, now seeing him again made her freeze in place.
Quincy's presence cast an immediate pall. His eyes, wild and unfocused, bore into them as he blocked their path. "Dovani," he called out, his voice a menacing whisper that sliced through the relative silence of the night.
Dovani's grip tightened on Semaji's hand, her other hand instinctively moving to her belly, though it had been months. Semaji moved instinctively, positioning himself between Dovani and Quincy, his body tensed and ready.
"You got some fuckin' nerve showing your face, homeboy," Semaji's voice was firm, commanding, leaving no room for argument.
Quincy laughed, a hollow sound that echoed off the nearby buildings. "I can't just let her go. She needs to be with me. We were supposed to be a family."
"We were never going to be a family, Quincy. You took that away from me," Dovani said, her voice trembling but loud enough for him to hear. Her eyes were filled with a mix of fear and defiance.
Reaching in his jacket, Semaji immediately tackled Quincy to the ground. He tackled him to the floor and beat him with everything in him and more. It was like he wasn't feeling that shit. He had eaten those punches and came back for more. In the midst of the fight, Dovani struggled to pull out her phone but she managed to call the police and describe the situation as an aggressive street fight with her boyfriend and ex.
Quincy had the strength of two men, surprisingly. He got in several licks on Semaji. He could hear Dovani screaming for them to let go of each other, knowing Quincy had a gun as well as the police sirens in the around the corner.
He pulled out a second gun. Semaji hadn't even thought enough to bring his. They immediately started fighting over it, and he could see Dovani frozen in fear when it went off.
All Semaji could think was he was shot. Quincy had shot him. He mentally checked himself over. He was fine. It was just a misfire, but then there was a second shot. Quincy froze underneath him.
