STEVEN DREW[JANUARY 9TH,
2:49 AM.]'SURE THING' SLOWLY PLAYED IN THE BACKGROUND of Steven's vehicle. The male had been on the road for hours on end, just enjoying his own company while smoking. Since hearing the news of Dovani and his bestfriend loosing their first baby, his first niece, his mind hadn't stopped racing. Not being able to sit still caused him to be on the empty roads hours on end, trying to figure of how he was feeling through the music that flowed through the speakers of the car.
The crisp night air carried with it a sense of solitude, punctuated by the soft hum of his car engine and the rhythmic thud of his heart. Each breath he took hung in the air, a misty exhale merging with the fog that blanketed the landscape.
The moon, a faint crescent in the sky, offered little illumination, leaving the road ahead shrouded in uncertainty. Yet, Steven pressed on, guided by the faint glow of his headlights cutting through the darkness like a beacon of hope.
Despite the late hour and the weight of secrecy resting heavy on his shoulders, there was a strange serenity in the stillness of the night. It was as if time itself had slowed, allowing him to reflect on the tangled web of emotions swirling within him.
With each passing mile, Steven found himself drawn deeper into the enigmatic allure of the night, navigating its twists and turns with a sense of purpose fueled by his unwavering determination to reach Sahara and ensure her safety.
Catching his attention at a red light, his phone lit up his car sky with a name he wasn't expecting to hear from.
"Hello?"
"I know it's late but I just wanted to see what you was doin'." Saharas voice boomed through the bluetooth. The muffled singing of clubbers mingling with the clinking of champagne and shot glasses. The occasional burst of laughter, creating a bit of an issue when she could barely hear him, standing in line for the bathroom. 'All the time' playing lowly in the background, had him imagining what club she was at tonight
It hadn't even been a month since they had seen each other and it was slowly sending Steven in a spiral. Miara was no longer in the picture and he was just ready to expand his taste after getting out of a relationship that didn't define him but held apart of him for the longest.
"Hara?" He called her name, it slowly rolling off his tongue. Her groaning through the speaker made him laugh.
"Don't say my name like that. I forgot what I was goin' say." She slurring whined into the phone as her voice cracked, a hint of drunkenness laced in her tone.
