~* Venus's POV *~

I sighed in frustration as I looked through documents. I cannot stay focus without wondering how Ciel and Sebastian are alive!

I've been looking through documents about supernatural beings. So far, it's useless. I mean, unless they are a mermaid which is highly unlikely. According to this document, mermaids can pass as a human but when they come in contact with water, their tails and fins emerge. It's quite interesting.

I flipped through the papers but abruptly stopped when I read the title. 'Grim Reapers' were titled on the top in bold. I quickly read the documentary. (A/N: you may skip the next paragraph that's in italics. It's long and boring.)

Grim Reapers must remain neutral between God and humans; they are strictly forbidden from to intervening in or influencing human affairs. Grim Reapers receive a soul retrieval list of those scheduled to die from their higher-ups. The list contains substantial information on the human, including the person's name, parents, birth date, death date, cause of death, and any additional notes. Their principal job is to check each dying soul's kaleidoscope of memories-its Cinematic Record-one by one, to determine whether they deserve to die or not. For the human who receives the judgment, "this human should die," the Grim Reapers use their Death Scythes to sever his or her memories and souls from his or her bodies, resulting in the human's death. Afterward, they would promptly stamp "Completed" on the individual's file on the list.

Could they be grim reapers? They don't have a noticeable Death Scythes though... so it makes it highly unlikely.

My eyes widened as I read the next selection. Demons. Could they be demons? There is a chance.

My mind flashed back to the day my family was murdered. The culprit was a demon...

I clenched my fists in anger. I hate demons. If they were no such thing, my family would still be alive. I need to kill any demon I come in contact with... even if it makes me a murderer. One more demon dead could save people.

According to this file on demons, they devour souls by forming contracts with humans. The demon has to obey any order his master wishes. The demon engraves a contract symbol on the human's body; the more visible the stronger the bond is.

I instantly thought of Ciel's covered eye. What if he is hiding his symbol? But, I doubt Ciel is a human. He suffered a fatal bullet wound yet is still alive. Is he a demon as well?

A plan formed in my mind. I should test their abilities, find out their weaknesses. My results should tell whether they are human or not... whether I should kill them.

"Well isn't this a surprise," I murmured as I stared at the dead body in front of me.

I took a stroll outside to get some fresh air only to find a body near the garden. My eyes scanned the it. The body was had already decomposed, leaving only bones and a little bit of soft tissue. I quickly noticed that the victim was holding a small box.

Picking up the box, I opened it. There was a note inside. I read it.

Roses are red,

Violets are blue,

This person is dead,

Because of you.

~ D.K

I finished reading the poem. I bet 'D.K' stands for Dark Knights.

I sighed before staring at the dead body. I may be able to tell what happen to this person.

I walked into the manor before calling Sebastian.

"Yes, Lady Venus?" he appeared before me.

"There's a dead body outside. I need you to bring it inside," I stated.

He nodded before following me outside. He picked up the body with ease before walking back into the mansion. I instructed him to put it in an empty room before requesting a table so I can lay the body on it.

He complied with my wishes. He led me into an empty room before placing the body on a table.

"May I have gloves?" I requested. He handed me medical gloves.

"Can you retrieve my black bag from my room?" I asked. He nodded before leaving. My black bag contained my medical tools.

Sebastian returned with my bag. "Thank you," I muttered. He bowed before leaving me with the dead body. I sighed before getting to work.

There wasn't enough flesh on the face to know what the person looked like. I need to do a facial reconstruction later.

I lightly scraped the flesh off the skull before placing the dead skin into a bag. I inspected the person.

"High cheekbones, judging by the facial features this person was Caucasian," I muttered to myself.

The door to the room suddenly opened. I slightly turned my head to see Ciel. He looked at what I was doing with wide eyes.

"What are you doing?!" he demanded.

I ignored him, turning back to the body.

"Lady, Venus, I mu-" he tried to talk but I interrupted him rudely.

"Looking at the pelvis, this person was a woman. The facial features reveal the she was Caucasian. Judging by the length of the femur, she was quite short. Her age was between 30 to 40. The damage on the skull shows that she was hit with a blunt, dull object repeatedly but that was not cause of death," I stated.

I turned towards him to see him staring at me in shock. "How do you know that?"

"While working for the Queen, I had to identify dead corpses and skeletons and find out cause of death," I said before turning back to the body.

"Her sternum is fractured from a trauma which was the likely cause of death," I said. Ciel was now across from me, staring at the body with wide eyes.

I took my magnifying glass and held it in front of the trauma on the sternum. "She was hit with the same object that repeatedly hit her skull," I observed.

"May I see?" Ciel asked. I nodded before handing him the magnifying glass. He observed the damage.

"How to you know that it was the same weapon?" he questioned.

"Look at this," I pointed at the damage on the skull. "It's the same mark done to the sternum." He nodded, finally understanding.

"Here, read this. I found it with the body," I handed him the disturbing poem. He read it before glaring.

"This is from the Dark Knights," he scowled. I nodded.

"But sending this body to us was their mistake," I smirked.

"Why is that?" he asked cautiously.

"I can find out where she was killed, giving us the exact location of the Dark Knights," I stated. He smiled triumphantly.

"Instead of scaring us, they just gave us a clue to bring them down."
