~* Venus's POV *~

I glanced at Ciel who was staring at the body in front of him in wonder as I did my work. Here is my hypothesis:

Ciel Phantomhive and Sebastian Michaelis are demons.

Now, I just have to prove it by testing them. I will do a total of five tests and when the results are clear, I will either kill them or leave them alone. Here is my first test for Ciel:

Demons have enhanced sense of smell. Meaning, if I put a little fragrance in the air that will make people faint, he will immediately smell it or if I'm lucky, he will faint. But since it's only a little fragrance, normal people wouldn't smell it or pass out.

I got a spray bottle and pressed the top once, leaving a lingering smell. I quickly hid the bottle before going back to the dead body. I kept my eye on Ciel, watching him closely.

He sniffed the air before frowning. He seemed to get a little dizzy and leaned on the wall for support.

"Are you alright?" I questioned. He nodded in response.

"Do you smell that?" he asked.

"No, what do you smell?" I asked, keeping an expressionless face.

"I think it's sleeping gas," he murmured. I nodded in acknowledgment.

He smelt it! He has enhanced smelling but that doesn't necessarily prove that he is a demon. He could be part dog for all I know. That would be quite odd...

"I found out the murder weapon," I said, grabbing his attention. "She was killed by a pipe."

"A pipe?" he asked in disbelief. I nodded.

"Here, let us play out the scenario of how she was killed. I'm the murderer, you're the lady," I positioned myself in front of him.

"Why am I the lady?" he questioned. I shrugged.

"So she was whacked on the head with a pipe," I lightly whipped my hand against Ciel's head.

"Then she was kneed in the stomach," I grabbed hold of Ciel's hands and thrusted my knee into his gut, making him fall on his back. I fell down with him. He winced in pain. Yes, this is a little test but it doesn't necessarily count. I wanted to see if he can feel pain. So far, yes. He can experience it.

"Then a pipe hit her sternum," I placed my index finger where the wound was. "She died after that."

Ciel was lying on the ground while I was straddling his waist. His eyes widened as he noticed our positions.

The door suddenly opened revealing Sebastian. "Master, I-"

Sebastian stopped his sentence as he noticed us on the ground. His lips tugged into a small smirk. "Am I interrupting something?"

"No, you are not," I stated, getting off Ciel. I couldn't help but notice the faint blush on Ciel's cheeks.

"I just have to do a facial reconstruction then find out where she died," I said, going back to the body. I grabbed my sketchbook before drawing what the woman looked like before she died.

"What is that smell?" Sebastian questioned. So, he smelled the gas too.

"I thought it was sleeping gas," Ciel muttered. They exchanged weird glances before whispering to each other. What are they hiding?

Once I was finished with the sketch, I immediately recognized who it was. I've seen her.

"This is Adelina Patti," I stated. They turned to me.

"The opera singer?" Ciel asked in disbelief. I nodded in response. Why would Liam murder a famous opera singer?

My eyes widened as I noticed something from the base of her foot. It was a red string. I made a few calculations in my head before it all made sense. I know where she was murdered.

"She was murdered in the Royal Opera House," I revealed.

"How do you know?" Sebastian asked.

"This red string was found on her foot," I held it for them to see before continuing. "The curtains of the Royal Opera House are red. Judging by the texture and strength, this came from that Opera House." They nodded, finally understanding.

"I need to find out who is going to that Opera house tonight," I said. Knowing Liam, he probably threatened the owner of the opera house. If the owner wouldn't do what Liam said, he would kill their performers. Like Adelina Patti.

"Here is a list," Sebastian handed over a document. My eyes scanned the guest list before I saw what I needed. One of the names read Liam Smith. It's probably an alias.

"What entertainment is scheduled tonight at the opera house?" I asked.

"There is a ball, I believe," Sebastian answered.

"Do you think you can get us invitations?" I asked Ciel. He nodded.

"Then it is settled. We are attending that ball. The Dark Knights will be there," I stated. They both nodded, agreeing with me. After that, they both left, preparing the arrangements.

Yay! We are going to see Liam! Angel cheered in my mind. I rolled my eyes. She still doesn't understand. Liam doesn't care about us. He just wants to use my skills for his evil doings.

After a few minutes, Ciel and Sebastian walked into the room.

"I got the invitations," Ciel held out three envelopes that were the invitations we needed to get in.

"I've prepared our disguises," Sebastian stated. I stared at him in confusion. "Disguises?" I questioned. Sebastian nodded.

"Lady Venus, a maid is in your room. She will help you get ready," the butler said. I left the room, heading to mine.

Once I opened the door, I noticed a cherry red hair woman and huge circle glasses. She smiled at me.

"I am Mey-Rin. I will help you get ready," she held out the ball gown I will wear.

The gown was royal purple that was floor length. It was styled Victorian, making it look elegant. The gown would match my purple hair. I inwardly cringed at the sight. I'm not a fan of dresses. Even Liam knew that.

It's gorgeous! Angel squealed in my mind. She's been appearing more recently than before which was getting quite annoying.

I was undressed before Mey-Rin placed a black corset. She tightened it, making me wince slightly. I swear, it's a miracle how no one has been killed by one of these. They practically squeeze a woman until they can't breathe.

I slipped on the ball gown. Mey-Rin placed black laced flats on my feet before combing my hair gently. I felt like a princess getting ready for her wedding. I usually don't get treated like this.

Cyan colored diamond earrings were placed on my ear before a silver necklace was wrapped around my neck. Why did Sebastian have to choose something so fancy?

"There you are, milady," Mey-Rin smiled, placing a full length mirror in front of me. I stared at my reaction in shock. Wow...

We look so pretty! Angel exclaimed. For once, I actually agreed with her. I thanked Mey-Rin before leaving the room, heading to where Ciel and Sebastian were waiting.

Once they spotted me, Ciel's eyes were filled with shock while Sebastian politely smiled at me.

"Y-You look..." Ciel trailed, trying to come up with a satisfying word.

"Lovely," Sebastian finished. I nodded but truthfully, I was flattered. I've been called smart, skillful and talented but never lovely.

Sebastian led us into the carriage. He closed the door behind us, leaving Ciel and I alone. We didn't speak to each other. We just waited in silence.

The butler slapped the reigns on the horses and the carriage advanced towards the Royal Opera House.
