~* Venus's POV *~

"Chrissy."

His eyes bore into mine. Loss. Alone. Fear. All of these emotions stared back at me. I wanted nothing more than to reach out and show him the way. He's been blinded with this absurd ambition to make the world as he envisioned. He needs to accept how cruel this world can be. He shouldn't try to perfect it. Change. Change is what he needs.

"You made it, Venus. The grand finale. With this, everything will finally be over," he spoke with such excitement, glancing to the throne where the Queen's corpse sat.

You're wrong.. The world is just filled with endless battles...

"Get the hell off me!" Ciel snarled as he was grabbed and forced to kneel. A gun was pressed against his forehead, my brother being the one with his finger hovering over the trigger.

"Stop," I whispered, my eyes widened in horror. I couldn't move. It was like I was frozen in place. This isn't how it's suppose to be. This isn't how I wanted my own brother to meet Ciel.

"You have brainwashed my sister! You, the evil noble who does the dirty work for the Queen," Christopher seethed with so much hatred, "Well, where is your Queen now?" Then responded sarcastically, "Oh wait, that's right. I got rid of her filthy presence!"

"Stop," I said helplessly, feeling torn between the Earl and my own brother. I did not even recognize this person in front of me. He seemed so cold, so heartless, so unforgiving. This was not the Chrissy I knew.

'He's just like you,' Angel's soft voice echoed in my mind, 'You were so innocent and naive. You changed from the tragedy of losing your family. You became so cold, so heartless, so distant. But then, you met Ciel.'

I nodded. Chrissy may have changed but deep down, he is still someone I can trust and love. But how? How can I make him see that what he is doing is wrong?

My eyes met Ciel's, his soft azure colored orbs calming my erratic heartbeat. He smiled reassuringly, as if everything was going to be alright. He gave me the confidence I needed to unfreeze and begin to think rationally. I analyzed my surroundings, calculating a plan.

Chrissy, I'm going to save you.

I spun around sharply on my heel, barreling towards the man in front of me. I sent him a roundhouse kick, knocking the gun out of his hands. It clattered to the ground. He grabbed me, lifting me up. I smirked. So predictable.

I maneuvered myself in his arms, twisting my limbs around until my legs were tightly wrapped around his neck. I arched my back, forcing my legs downwards, taking the man down with me. He fell to the ground, wheezing from the lack of oxygen.

"Don't shoot her!" Christopher yelled, "Stop her!"

I let go of the man before swiftly knocking him out. My eyes landed on the gun on the ground before diving for it as men sprinted towards me. I picked the rifle up and rolled across the floor, right in between a man's legs, him watching in confusion, my movements too quick for him to follow.

Now standing up, I pointed my gun at Christopher. I ordered, "Stand down or I will kill him."

The men froze in their tracks. My brother's eyes widened at my words, "Venus..?"

"I am no longer the vulnerable little girl you once knew. I have changed," I stated, a thousand emotions coursing through my veins, "You don't have to do this, Christopher. I no longer need your protection. It seems though you are older than me, I am far more mature. That world you envision, it is unrealistic and impossible. There will always be violence and corruption. We are humans, after all."

"Venus--"

"The world is full of endless battles, Chrissy. But that's okay. We can get through this," my voice wavered, tears beginning to form, "Together, as we've always done."

"But he deserves to be punished for his evil doings," my brother's grip on the gun tightened, his finger pressing the trigger dangerously yet not setting it off, "He is not even human. He's a demon!"

"I know. Though he's not the enemy. I love him, Chrissy," I smiled, "He made me feel human. He fixed me while you left me broken."

"That's not true! I didn't leave you," my brother argued.

Fury burned in my chest as I screamed at him, tears trickling down my cheeks, "Why didn't you come back for me?! I waited and waited but you never came! You were the one who never came back. You left me shattered, trying to find my way, only to get consumed by the darkness! Chrissy, w-why didn't you come back for me?"

I sunk to my knees, sobs racking my body, "Where the hell were you when I was found alive? Where were you when I tried to end my life, the demon's taunts too much for me to bear? Where were you when I needed you the most? Where were you, Chrissy? Where were you all this time? W-Why did you leave me alone to suffer alone?"

My brother looked so pained, watching me wither away into the feeling of abandonment. All the anger and defiance drained from his face, leaving a shattered man that was the cause of his sister's pain.

"All I ever needed was you."

He walked towards me, dropping to his knees, staring at my glistening eyes that wanted nothing more than him to come back.

"Why didn't you come home?" I whimpered, throwing my arms around him.

A choked sob left his lips, embracing me with all his might. He cried with so much anguish and regret, "I'm sorry... I'm sorry for leaving you alone for so long."

His warmth... His voice... my brother... he finally came back for me.

"C-Chrissy," I whispered with a shaky voice, this unimaginable feeling of happiness consuming me. My broken heart was finally mended, my brother finally fixing the last part of me.

He said the words I've been dying to hear all this time.

"Let's go home, Venus."
