~* Venus's POV *~
"Let's go." I unlocked Ciel's lock. He walked out with the gun grasped in his hand.
I started to walk towards the door but stopped as my vision blurred. I cursed under my breath. Another hallucination.
The room smelt of blood. The demon who murdered my family stalked towards me. "Guess what?" he asked excitedly. I narrowed my eyes at him but kept quiet.
"Would you believe me if I said your brother is alive?" he smiled sweetly at me with his glowing red eyes. My eyes widened as I heard this. Chrissy's alive?
I shook my head, trying to erase these hopeful thoughts. This isn't real. It's just another hallucination.
He sent me a sly smirk before disappearing. The smell of blood went away as well.
"Venus?" Ciel called out. I was leaning on the wall for support. I pushed myself off before once again walking towards the door.
"I'm fine," I stated. He gave me a look of uncertainty but shrugged it off.
I quietly opened the door, poking my head out. There were no guards in sight. I titled my head, signaling to Ciel that the coast is clear.
He nodded before walking out. Ciel followed me as we tried to find an exit.
I pushed Ciel back and pressed myself against the wall. There was a guard. What was peculiar about this was that he was guarding a door. Maybe it was the exit.
I took out Ciel's ring that I had crushed earlier. I threw it towards the hallway across from us. It made a loud noise, grabbing the guard's attention. He walked into the hallway across from us, abandoning his post.
I hastily ran towards the door. I pulled it open before yanking Ciel instead. He was too damn slow.
I looked around the room, taking in my surrounding. There were maps all over the room with bold red X's crossed on them. There were also a bunch of weapons and bombs.
What caught my eye was they golden key hung in the corner. I grabbed it before inspecting.
"This is the Queen's key that was stolen," I told Ciel. He nodded in agreement. I put in my pocket for safe keeping.
The door suddenly opened, revealing the guard. He saw us before his eyes widened. He opened his mouth to shout but a bullet silenced him. Ciel shot him.
I glared at Ciel angrily. "Why did you do that?"
"He was going to get more guards," he said. I rolled my eyes at his stupidity. The sound of multiple footsteps was heard.
"Shooting a bullet makes noise! Now they know exactly where we are," I stated. His eyes widened at his mistake.
I grabbed a few guns before tossing some of them towards Ciel. I took the grenade before getting it ready.
I flipped the table so it would shield us. I yanked Ciel behind the table before the door swung open.
I observed the targets to mentally establish the distance between my throwing position and them before removing the safety clip. I grasped the grenade in my hand before throwing it towards them.
I ducked my head before shoving Ciel's head down. An explosion was heard. I poked my head up and saw blood splattered on the walls.
New guards filled in with rifles in their arms. I aimed at one before shooting him on the spot. I ducked my head as a bullet flew past me. I cursed as I noticed their growing numbers. Whenever I shoot one down, two more appear.
"What do we do?" Ciel panicked. I sent him a quick glare. This was his fault in the first place.
My eyes widened as they threw a grenade. It landed between me and Ciel.
I tackled Ciel to the ground, shielding him away from the blast. Pain spread throughout my back from using my body as a shield. I could feel myself grow weaker.
"Venus!" Ciel gently shoved me off him. He placed me on my side before glancing at my wound. His eyes widened in shock.
A bullet was shot from a guard. It went right through my leg making me wince. Ciel noticed before standing up. He aimed the gun at the guard before shooting. He fell to the ground, blood pooling underneath him.
Another guard appeared out of nowhere and aimed his gun at Ciel. My eyes widened at this as Ciel just stood there, like a deer caught in headlights. I grabbed his foot and yanked him down. The bullet grazed his arm but at least it didn't go through his heart.
Ciel had fallen but his face was a few centimeters from my face. His breath fanned in my face making me shiver. I've never been this close to a boy before. My eyes widened as these thoughts ran through my mind. Why am I thinking this?
I scooted backwards, trying to create some distance between Ciel and I. My heart was pounding in my chest making me frown. What's wrong with me?
I noticed that a faint blush was evident on Ciel's cheeks. He looked embarrassed. Now is not that time for that!
I stood up shakily before throwing a grenade towards the guards. The tried to jump out of the way but a few unlucky ones got caught in the blast.
A guard unexpectedly stood up, aiming his gun at me. I couldn't move, the pain in my back unbearable.
He pulled the trigger; a bullet rang through the air.
At the last moment, Ciel jumped in front of me. Blood seeped through Ciel's shirt from the bullet wound. I couldn't help the gasp that escaped my lips. Why did he do that?
He fell backwards, not being able to carry himself. I caught him before gently placing him in my lap.
"Ciel! Ciel!" I tried to get his attention. His eyes started to close. My mind flashed to when Liam did the same for me. He got in front of me to stop the bullet, just like Ciel.
I lifted his shirt, looking at the wound. I ripped a piece of my shirt off and pressed it against the wound.
My eyes widened when I noticed something on his side. It was a brand mark. How did it get there?
I shook my head. Now is not the time to stare at Ciel's body. Gosh, that sounded wrong.
I placed two fingers on his neck, trying to find a pulse. There was none. I put my head on where his heart should be. There was no beat. He's dead...
Ciel Phantomhive is dead.
