"A wedding is a precious sacrament. A sacreligious movement for two to be joined as one in front of the Lord's altar. To show the prospect of love and devotion of marriage and a lifetime of a humble bond." The Priest speaks.
The woman with the feathered headdress takes a deep breath. Her gray eyes landed on the woman in front of her who was holding the same bouquet as hers. She glances at everyone else that looks upon them. Only a few were to witness this kind of love they have. The set up was minimal. White flowers and little bits of other colors. White fabricated lace which cost nearly a million. The wind blew in a soft hymn as the wedding proceeded. She clasped onto her bouquet and took the deepest of breaths. The sounds of the melodic birds filled the background of the quiet unison.
"Do you, Themarie. Take thee, Haven as your lawfully wedded wife?" The Priest speaks and Haven's heart pounded as her eyes glanced upon the woman in front of her. Her eyes were like a snake's, staring at her intensely as she felt like being under the presence of a primal being. Haven felt like a prey, Themarie eyes at her as she waits for that consumption.
"Yes." Themarie's voice was cold, it was laced with such a chilling aftermath. Haven looks at her, the woman seemed pissed and just forced to. Haven knew thi would be the reaction she will foresee.
"And do you, Haven." The Priest paused as he looks at Haven who is having a tensed expression.
"Take Themarie as your lawfully wedded wife?" The Priest gives a quick eye to eye contact to Haven, she looks at Themarie who is mainly waiting for her response for this so called marriage.
Haven's lips trembled before she spoke. "Yes, I take her as my lawfully wedded wife." She said, words were stiffened and there was a faint smirk upon Themarie's face before they both look at the Priest who is once again speaking.
"The two will now officially say their vows as they place the ring of their united love and commitment." The Priest slightly moved away a little giving them space and they walked close to one another. Haven lets go faint deep breath and Themarie looks at her before letting out a chuckle.
"Relax." Themarie encourages, Haven shook her head before letting out a smile before the ring bearer gives them their rings and Themarie was the first to speak. The officiant moves the mic close beside Themarie's mouth while Themarie's hand gently holds on Haven's hand.
Haven felt a chill down her spine feeling the brush of the woman's fingers on hers, it was cold and the way it was chilling to some point made Haven think she's exaggerating but what does she even know about united marriage that is arranged by the family?
She doesn't know this woman.
A crush she has, Themarie is a well talented pianist that Haven looked upon which led to this knot of a marriage. They took advantage of that little crush and made it bloom into a marriage where the ties of love were seemingly so tangled to the point it doesn't straighten at all.
"With this ring," Themarie starts as she holds Haven's palm in a gentle and soft mannerism. Haven's breath was caught as she finds herself staring into Themarie's siren eyes, it was luring her in, in the depths of the unknown.
Oh to be lured by a beautiful serpent.
Drowned to death because of its beauty.
A swan and a snake.
Isn't the best mixture.
"I promise to care for you, to laugh with you, to carry your burdens with you, and to understand and love you as perfectly imperfect, each day forward. To treasure you and to purely be with you during your highest and your laws. Forever and ever." Themarie's words almost feel like it's an empty promise, Themarie spoke the vow as if only speaking to the ring and never Haven. As Haven feels the ring sliding down her finger she knows what she is falling into. Haven softly gazed at the taller woman who finally lets go and she then takes the other ring before the officiant moves to her.
Haven holds onto Themarie's hand and looked up to the woman as she takes a deep breath. "I promise to forever hold onto what we have and if it ever gives us a bitter aftermath, I promise to stay and I promise to forever stay by your side whether it's the lowest or your highest moments in love. To love you, comfort you and understand all things what it means to love and be joined to you. Please, accept this ring as my heartfelt commitment to you as my wife." She ended and looked at the woman softly, smiling as she looked down to slide the ring in. It felt right but also wrong to be joined like this. To be united in front of the altar and saying the vows of marriage as if so in love. The first lie in church Haven has done for her family. It seemed so wrong to be joined but Haven was well selfish enough to accept this kind of love.
To be loved and unloved.
"By the authority vested in me and everyone who has witnessed this ceremony and blessed by the Almighty. I now pronounce you, Haven and Themarie as wives." The officiant says and the rest who are sitting were now standing up and flashing their phones, smiling at both Haven and Themarie. They fully opened their veils first and everyone was murmuring and flashing their cameras at them.
The officiant smiles at them both. Haven's breath was caught when Themarie cupped her cheeks. Hven noised out a little and looked up to Themarie who has the same irritated and slightly cold expression but she managed to crack a smile upon looking at Haven, her now wife.
"You may now kiss!" The officiant finishes.
Haven closed her eyes shut feeling her lips being captured and locked against another. The vanilla scent perfume mixed with an enticing flavor lingered on Haven's nostrils. The kiss made her heart pound like crazy. It was making her feel guilty and bad but they both agreed to do this for the sake of their family. The kiss for Haven felt so special in the most heartbreaking way. Her last and first kiss, her pure marriage turned into an arrangement.
The kiss felt like poison on her lips, it stung, it burned but somehow the heat managed to make her breath and love it. The kiss is like poison, she lets it pass through her veins. She let her lips feel embarked by this person, be owned and to kiss.
Never has Haven felt a kiss so sad and forced.
