Chapter Twenty Eight

Matured content.

"Hey hey hey." Marina gets some napkins as Yves was crying herself out, sobbing as she didn't know if she wanted to take another drink or wipe her tears. Themarie awkwardly takes a sip as she looks at her younger cousin. Yves was currently conflicted about her current marriage whether she wants to leave or continue to stay. Themarie's face was bitter, hearing that Yves was abused mentally and physically. Somehow, she was right.

Jasmine was bad news.

But Yves— "But I love her." Yves sobbed as Marina was the one gently wiping her baby cousin's tears.

"And it hurts that I love her." Yves continued to slur out her cries as she tried reaching for the glass wine even though she looks like she's going to knock herself down at any second. Themarie swiftly gets the shot glass and drinks the whole tequila causing her to wince at the splice of the alcohol.

"It's okay, cry it out." Themarie says softly as she looks at Yves. She glares at the persons in the club that are looking at their table, those who were trying to giggle or just accidentally took a look because of the cries. Themarie had them on sight.

"Aww." Miranda hugged Yves tight as she rubbed the woman's back gently, soothing the crying younger cousin of theirs. Themarie's heart aches as she takes another sip of alcohol. She somehow saw Haven in Yves. The disparity of just wanting to be loved by the person they love the most. To get back the same feeling and assurance.

Truly karma has its way to let Themarie pay for her misdeeds. She just hated how it had to be the purest and most loving girl of their family. Yves never deserved that, she never deserved to get hurt for just wanting to be loved.

And it stung knowing that's what all Haven asked for back then and she couldn't give it.

"I'm sorry." Themarie mumbled.

It would always be embarked in her head of how much karma redirected. Themarie hated other people suffering for her own selfish faults but it was too late to take it all back. She bitterly takes another sip as they continued to talk to Yves through all the tears. Comforting the younger woman at least, a comfort that Haven never got during her times of pain. She only had herself that bitter day. Themarie groaned feeling so bad, she hated how she was like that.

The next day, it was rehearsals once again. Themarie is still the one who picks up Haven as they go to practice together in the theater. It was afternoon. The sun was blazing hot and the traffic was present. It was too hot, Themarie cursed beneath her breath as she grips on the steering wheel. Haven turns to Themarie. She was sitting by the driver's seat right beside Themarie.

"Are you mad?" Haven tilts her head and she slightly pouts seeing the angry look on Themarie's face being evident. Themarie takes a deep breath before she turns to smile at Haven. Her free hand sneaking in to clasp on Haven's hand.

Themarie shakes her head as she firmly holds onto Haven's hand. "A little but not at you. It's just, I still have a hangover from last night and it's too hot, this traffic." Themarie calmly explains. Haven had an admiring look at Themarie. The holding hands and how Themarie was making herself calm by feeling Haven's presence.

"You went drinking last night?" Haven raised her brows and it was as if the melodic soft music died out and Themarie eagerly turned to Haven.

Shit!

Themarie's lips trembled as she steers the wheel and looked at the round first, she swallows before nodding her head while looking at Haven. "Oh...oh yeah,I went out with my cousins. A little reunion." She stutters and for some reason Haven laughs slightly.
