Chapter Eight

It was early sunday, the birds were chirping out and Haven had just woken up. Themarie was nowhere to be found as usual, the woman had to be somewhere else and Haven doesn't seem to have the full right to know where her wife is because of their quarrel last night. Haven groaned, feeling the head ache coming in. Drinking a lot of martini and tequila wasn't the best after effect. She managed to fight for herself for sure, she managed to convey what she felt but that was just in a fit of rage. Haven barely remembered what she said but it was for sure something she regretted saying.
"Good Morning." Haven looked up to see the old maid opening the room and greeting her. Haven squints her eyes when the old woman opened the curtains wider. The sunlight was giving her more headache than what she is already having.
"Let me guess, you got wasted last night." The old woman hummed and she squints her eyes back at Haven for the visible discomfort right in front of her eyes. Haven sighed, she didn't want to lie about it after all.
"Yes, I drank a little too much." Haven says as she laughs, her two fingers pressed nearly close to one another as she winked, letting the woman know that she only drank a 'little' bit where in fact, she remembered drinking nearly twenty glasses of the martini along with the tequila. It was rather a proud moment of hers for not throwing up but the damn headache, that was the real deal. She remembered dropping the bomb to Harlow and Mason about her deal with Themarie. She perfectly knows that those two will be asking her all about it again and again whilst planning to maybe bury Themarie alive for hurting her.
"A little." The old woman crossed her arms and raised her brow at the younger woman. Haven lets out a soft, amused laugh before she shook her head.
The old maid sighed before she cleaned the little mess on the floor and dusted off the dust in the cabinets and structures. "Miss Themarie waited for you, she was restless." The old woman starts to speak again as Haven gently gets out of her bed. She looked down seeing herself all dressed up in a cute silk pajama, she should've sworn she just laid in bed and dozed off to sleep when she arrived in the marital bedroom.
"She can sleep on her own. I didn't bring the fucking pillow with me after all." Haven mumbled as she fixed the bed, fluffing up the pillows and arranging them neatly before fixing the blanket next and sighed at the bitter feeling looming in her chest.
"You know she can't sleep so much when she's by herself or when she wakes up in the middle of the night and no one is beside her." Something that is fairly odd about Themarie was she only needs to be with someone when she sleeps. Sex was one of the reasons she gets the happiest kind of sleep. Haven still doesn't have the slightest idea as to why tho but she respected Themarie's comfort but Haven was just too fed up this time to even care about it.
Haven hugged the blanket as she gave out a deep sigh. "I know but she seemed so fine to be without me, She only needs me when we sleep together whether it's sex or just plainly laying with one another." Haven reasoned, she doesn't care at this point if she's going to be called sick or somewhat mean for what she is doing. Themarie has done more crucial things but they never bat an eye to their Milady.
The woman stopped with her cleaning before she looked at Haven, Haven gulped as she prepared herself for the incoming scolding. "I understand but you have accepted your faith, haven't you not?" The woman questioned and Haven bowed her head. She knew the moment she accepted this marriage that it would be fucked. She knew the odds of it all but she was a girl who loved to dream of a good change within people. To see them flourish but Haven knew that it can't happen to everyone when she met Themarie.
"I still hope for a change." Haven softly said as she smiled slightly at the old maid. The woman only hummed before taking her exit. Haven was left alone in the dark room again. She went like she was caged and hidden from the world. She knew the moment she became Themarie's wife everything would not be the same. It was all going downhill, she wanted to flee but to where exactly? When her whole life depended on the people that surrounded her. She was fed and watered, supervised at a young age and was supported.
