Chapter Eighteen
Matured content.
It was the day of Themarie's piano performance, the whole thing was a performance in a very big arena in which there are many singers as well that took part. Haven and Themarie's family were present there. It was the biggest event of the season and Haven was in the happiest to be able to take part and witness such.
"Are you okay, dear?" Themarie's Mom checked on Haven who is just beside them. Haven was looking at the stage and she was in deep thought but that was immediately pushed aside when she turned and looked at her Mother-in-law.
"I'm fine, Mom." Haven answered in a mumbled before she looks back at the stage with a serious but also an expressionless demeanor. She never wanted to be present in this event but Themarie pleaded her to do so.
The past days, Themarie was still trying to romance her. Haven on the other hand never wanted to entertain it since the pictures always kept coming in. Pictures of Themarie laying in bed were sent to Haven's phone. Something about it made Haven just want to simply start packing and leave but to be fair, she doesn't have anywhere else to go to. She hated how obscene the pictures were and Haven was in a deep overthinking frenzy because of it. The way Themarie was behaving towards her were now embedded in her head was lies.
'How could she have the guts to act like a good wife but then there were pictures of her infidelity randomly sent to me?' Haven had a bitter expression as her mind formed that statement. She clutched onto her phone and sighed.
She leaves her thoughts behind when the curtains were finally being pulled up and the audiences were standing up and giving their applause. The host first introduced the names of the performers. All of them were in their most dashing suits and dresses. Themarie takes attention to her black laced gown with a very sheer touch of fabric on the skirt of the gown. She blended in with everyone but her being the only white haired girl, she was still a highlight for some.
Haven clapped her hand when Themarie was being introduced, her poise and bow was an outstanding take. She's been in the industry since the age of eight so there was no questioning of her skills. Haven saw how Themarie was looking around, she smiled a little.
"Looks like my daughter is looking for you." Haven's Mother-in-law stated and let out a small laugh before she waves her handkerchief gently to let Themarie spot them but because of the crowd, it seemed like a very impossible move.
"I guess so, we're in the sixth row of the seats. She may not see us." Haven says as a little laugh escapes her lips when she sees how deeply irritated Themarie looked for a while since she couldn't spot Haven but composed herself later on.
"You're right, let's let it go." The woman shakes her head and looked at Haven with a very soft parental smile.
"How are you and Themarie doing, dear?" She asked and for some reason that made Haven take a small time to think it through. She doesn't know what to do or say about the whole situation but she cannot hurt such a loving heart who only wanted the best for her daughter.
"Themarie..." Haven mumbled as she remembered how each passing of the da Haven becomes bitter and sad of the life she has even when Themarie was now doing good things. The person sending her the pictures was basically the opposite of doing good things.
Haven looked at the woman and she smiled a little. "We've been doing good." She answered. A lace of pure lie and sarcasm runs Haven's whole system.
"Good? That seemed very fantastic to hear. I'm happy Themarie made you happy." The woman said to Haven. Haven could only hide the bitter smile on her face when she had to lie for the sake of everyone feeling good about something.
