Jungkook enters the factory, Taehyung right behind him guarding the outside."The coast is clear," he whispers, loudly enough for the elder to hear.
Taehyung follows him inside.
He scans the place with his eyes, observing Jungkook from time to time. The younger carefully studies the place, he climbs a few stairs—all of them without an exit—and tries to open the locked doors in the first floor. He takes a quick glance to Taehyung, the elder looks around with his gun close to his body, standing near the main entrance. Taehyung, who still keeps an eye on Jungkook, turns his head and they make eye contact.
Both of them look away rapidly.
The conversation they had five minutes ago keeps repeating over and over again in their heads and guilt starts growing in their insides.
Jungkook shakes his head to bring his attention back on the matter at hand. He spots some deteriorated tools in a corner and kneels down to have a better look, all of them rusted.
"Why didn't they take it with them?" he mumbles to himself.
Some red paint cans exposed against the grey wall catch his attention. He gets closer, trying to adjust his eye at the prominent darkness.
"Look, there're red spots on the floor but any of the walls are painted."
Taehyung hums, bouncing his feet. "JK, we should get going. This place is obviously empty."
"Do you think she has been here?" he kneels down and rubs his forefinger on one of the red spots. "It's still fresh, someone has been here."
An almost inaudible click makes him turn around, his gun raised. He sighs in relief and lowers it down, it came from Taehyung turning on the flashlight in his waist. Jungkook imitates him.
"Probably, but she's not here right now. So can we go? I want to join the rest. We shouldn't be here all by ourselves. Three people can defend themselves better than two." he crosses his arms against his chest, "Besides, Suga has Jimin and RM and Jin have J-hope."
"You got me." Jungkook says proudly, with a grin.
"Yeah, I got a boy who barely knows how to use a gun." he hums, nodding slightly. "It makes me feel so much better."
"Hey, I'm mastering my skills, you know?"
"Yeah, sure, but I bet you've the safety on. By the time you've turned it off, I would've already shot you if I were the enemy."
Jungkook checks it. "Of course it's -" he rubs his nose and turns the safer off, pushing the lower down. "Never mind."
Taehyung smirks, but it fades soon. "And you got me. Someone who spends most of the missions in the van," he scoffs and lowers his head, "what was RM thinking? Our best skills don't complement each other, if someone finds us we're dead men."
Jungkook plays with his earlobe. "I trust him, he knows what he's doing."
"No, he doesn't. He just put us together because he thinks we'll become besties. But guess what? We won't."
Jungkook exhales heavily. "Holy moly, V! I get it, okay? You hate me. I wish I was here with Jimin, with anyone else but you. But oh well, here we're."
