𝐂𝐇𝐀𝐏𝐓𝐄𝐑 𝟕𝟗

Jungkook lifts up a sleeping Jimin and brings him to his own room, while Hoseok wakes up Seokjin by placing kisses on his cheeks and nose. The elder whines, but flutters his eyes open and feels instantly better with a smiling Hoseok on top of him. Seokjin hugs him with his arms and legs and refuses to let him go, closing his eyes again.

Fortunately, when Jungkook comes back everyone's ready for Tiger to speak. The younger sits next to Yoongi because his boyfriend has chosen to stay next to Seokjin.

"It reminds me of what I told you in the office that day, but you mocked me. I knew they weren't talking about taxes."

Seokjin sighs and rubs his eyes with one hand. His head hurts mildly because of the past events, and it didn't help it to get better since they woke him up in the middle of his sleep.

"Seokie, can you please bring me my journal? It's in the second cabinet in my office."

Hoseok nods and heads there.

Yoongi bounces his feet at the lack of information. "What did you tell him? What does he mean, cutie pie?"

"Mimi and Bang PD talked about new beginnings or something like that. I thought they were talking about their married life, but it does connect with the investigation they made."

Yoongi hums, even if his boyfriend hasn't clarified his doubts yet.

The redhead comes back before Yoongi can ask another question.

Seokjin skims through the pages. Tiger bites his lower lip and Jungkook tries to remember what he said that day, but he gets nothing.

"Here it is," Seokjin points on the page. "You mentioned second lives, new beginnings and completely new. Second lives is also written on the paper Edgar gave me. But what does it mean?"

"Ugh, no idea." Yoongi growls, wishing he could strangle Mimi and Bang PD together.

"Can it be literal?" Tiger proposes at last. "Or is some kind of code? Maybe it's not literal."

Hoseok cracks his knuckles. "With Mimi you never know."

Seokjin rests his chin on his hand, his eyes still on the paper. "What if they gave Joonie a new life? Perhaps . . . Perhaps I did see him. I know I saw him. I - it was him guys, I promise."

Hoseok runs to his side and wraps an arm around his shoulder and Seokjin leans on him, closing his eyes for a few moments.

They remain quiet as everyone tries to uncover Mimi's words

Shit, was if it was actually Joon? But why on earth would he be free and still not here with us?

"Maybe they gave him a new opportunity. They must have blackmailed him."

Hoseok gasps and covers Seokjin's ears in vain. "Oh. My. God. Tiger's right! What if he wants to come back to us but they keep an eye on him? He didn't join the dark side by choice, they made him do it!"

Jungkook scrunches his nose and shakes his head. "Even if they threatened him to hurt you, it still doesn't make sense. He would've found a way. Jin, are you completely sure it was him?"

Seokjin glares at him and crosses his arms confidently. "Of course I am. He's still my boyfriend."

Nevertheless, his heart sinks. Ever since he saw Namjoon on the street and ran home, he believed it was Namjoon, but after his truth was doubted more than once, his hopes actually shutter.

He didn't hear me, he didn't turn around. What if I imagined him? Perhaps I didn't mistake him for someone else, perhaps I had an illusion of him. What if he wasn't real?

Tears threaten his eyes again and he blinks them away. The thought of that person being a creation of his imagination hurts more than being Namjoon himself—no matter the reason why he was free and didn't look after them.

Seokjin has to come back, he has to see him again and prove them all it was, indeed, Namjoon.
