Ransom

Shadow walks into the dining room ready to have lunch when he noticed Knuckles wasn't at the table. "Strange..." he thought. "Lunch is almost ready Shadow" Amy said walking in setting the plates. "Amy have you seen Knuckles?" Shadow asked. "I think silver said he saw him go into the library." Amy said and shadow smacks his forehead. "Why don't I ever check think that first." He said and walks to the library. When he opens the door he expects to see his love at his usual seat reading the first book he touches yet his heart sank. The tray where the tea and food was on was on the floor, the pillows on the couch were displaced and a note was stabbed into the couch. Shadow walks up to the couch tearing the note off and reads it. His eyes widen and bolts out of the library.

King Shadow,

If you want to see your precious Knuckles again you will bring us the deed to your kingdom and your crown. Come alone or else I will kill my brother. Think very carefully Shadow.

Manson

Shadow runs into the castle archive room and looked through the papers. "Shadow what's going on?" Sonic asked. "Knuckles was taken by Manson and if I dont bring him the deed I will lose him. I can't lose him sonic...." Shadow said and pulls out the deed. "But shadow Manson is not what's best for this kingdom." "And the people know that meaning an uprising. But like I said I'm not loosing knuckles." Shadow said and walks to his room grabbing the crown.

Shadow rides to the meeting spot and sees Manson with Knuckles gagged and tied up against a tree. "Well look at that guess he did come for you little brother." Manson smirked. "Here take them" shadow tossed the crown with a deed tied to it. "Now let him go" "Aha ah first I need to make sure this isn't fake" he said and opens the deed. "Guess you do love my brother. Fine a deals a deal." He said and took the dagger to the rope. Knuckles pulls off the gag and runs into shadows arms. "Shadow why—" "I couldn't lose you my love." Shadow smiled then it dropped once they both heard a click. "Of course you both aren't going to return ether." Manson smiled wickedly pointing a revolver at them. "MANSON WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS?!" "Why? WHY?! Because you make me fucking sick. Our mother almost lost her life giving birth to you. Our parents always gave you more attention. They have spoiled you—" "ME?! YOU ARE THE ONE THEY SPOILED MOST! The only reason I got more attention was because I was helping and also always wanting to learn something! You always gotten what you wanted but I never did yet you don't see me pointing a gun at you!" Knuckles said in disbelief and heartbreak of his brother's betrayal even more. "Well guess where that lead you. I won't let you be more richer than me nor be my king. Might want to give each other a kiss goodbye because it will be your last" Manson said. "I paid you the ransom just let us go to another town and we won't say a thing please think about this!" Shadow said. Manson looks up nodding his head and humming then looks back at them. "No it be best for you two to die" he said and pulls the trigger. Shadow gets in front of knuckles just as the bullet stops in front on them. "WHAT THE?!" Manson said. "I thought the king was cruel" they turn seeing the enchanter walking up. "Your heart and soul are stone cold. Going back on promises and willing to kill for greed. I don't think there's hope for you." The enchanter said and the bullet turns then hits Manson making him drop the gun, deed and crown. "Now you will turn what your heart and soul have become" he said and in one snap knuckles watched his brother turn to stone. "Wait what about sally? She was in on killing us as well." Shadow said. "Who is sally?" The enchanter asked. "She was one of my staff." "There was no sally in that castle shadow." He explained and the two were confused. "Now then I think you two have a wedding to plan correct?" The enchanter smiled before disappearing. "That was... odd..." knuckles said as shadow picked up the deed and crown.

"Yes it was but let's head back home and finish wedding planning my love."
