A/N: apologies the exposition is so long lol

this was pretty fun to write, I should write Zoro more often

"Oi, Usopp! There's a big robot over there! Let's go see it!" Luffy shouts, pointing in a direction.

"What are you talking about, Luffy? There's no way- WOAH!" Usopp gapes at the gigantic robot that is indeed somewhere on the island.

"Wait, Luffy! We can't just go out there without knowing what the island is like!" Nami says.

Ignoring her warning, Luffy leaps off the ship with a whoop of joy, and Usopp and Chopper follow. Nami sighs. "We should start chaining them down..."

"Don't worry, Nami! SUPER me will make sure they don't get into trouble!" With that, Franky jumps off the ship. Robin chuckles at this, and Zoro says, "Well, I'm going to take a walk."

"Don't you dare, stupid moss head!" Sanji says, walking out of the kitchen.

"What did you say, nosebleed?!"

"The number one rule of this crew is to never let the moss head leave on his own!" Sanji walks toward Zoro. "If you won't stay, then I'll make you!"

"Don't talk to me like that, 4th," Zoro says smugly.

"I'll show you who's fourth!" And just like that, they're fighting again. You sigh, glancing at Nami, who is smoldering with barely contained anger.

"Guys, just stop; I'll go with Zoro to make sure he doesn't get lost," you say.

Immediately, Sanji stops and looks at you, smiling with hearts in his eyes. "Of course, Y/N-chan!"

Zoro sighs, putting his swords away. "Alright, then. Let's go."

Walking off the ship, you look at Zoro curiously. "Why do you want to go on a walk, anyway? I didn't peg you as someone who would enjoy that."

He glances at you. "To master focus in training, you have to first calm your mind."

You hum, facing ahead as you approach a small town. It's tiny but bustling, and as you look around, you spot a shop labeled "weapons." Zoro sees it, too, and grins. "I'm going to go in there. Maybe I can find a nice sword. I don't have any money, though..." He mutters the last part as he walks off to the shop. It takes you a full 10 seconds or so as you stand there before you realize that letting him go off alone is the last thing you should be doing. Shoot, he better not have gotten lost walking a few meters... you think, expecting the worst as you sprint into the shop. You're pleasantly surprised to see him conversing with the shop owner and breathe a sigh of relief. Since I'm here now, I might as well look around. You're drawn to a wall that has ornate blades hung on it and admire them. I don't know how to use a sword, but I might have to learn now. These are so nice, you think. Just then, a man walks over to the wall, picking up a blade and examining it. "Pretty cool, huh?" he says.

"Huh? Oh, yeah, they're beautiful," you say, smiling slightly.

"But not as stunning as you, madame," his voice not nearly as smooth as his words.

"Oh, I'm flattered," you say politely, blinking in surprise. Is this Sanji's brother or something?

"It's true. Your beauty is more radiant than the sun, and I am unworthy of your presence," he says dramatically, spinning as he takes your hand. He pulls you closer and raises your hand to his mouth, his lips brushing your skin lightly. "Would you do me the honor of letting me buy you dinner sometime?"

"Oh, ah... That's really kind of you, but..." you struggle for words, unsure what to say.

"And just what are you doing?" A rough voice speaks from behind the man. He freezes as Zoro steps around him to stand between him and yourself.

"O-oh, hey there. I was just talking to this lovely lady here."

"Well, you're done talking now," Zoro says flatly. "Leave."

"I just want to take her out to dinner," the man stutters. "Is that so wrong?"

Zoro's hand goes to one of his katana, and the man flinches. "Okay! Okay, I'll go." He all but runs, and Zoro sighs. You give him a look, and as he catches it, he raises a brow. "Is there a problem?"

You laugh. "Not really, just that you scared off a man. What was that about?"

He shrugs, steering you out the door. "I didn't like how he looked at you," he says.

"Oh really? Or were you just jealous?" you tease.

He scowls. "Whatever. Guys like him are bad news. Reminded me of that idiot cook..."

At this, you laugh, tipping your head back. You're a little bit flustered that he got so protective over someone flirting with you, but you mask it with your amusement. I didn't know he cared that much, you think. "Alright, then."
