A splitting headache shattered the tranquility of his slumber, a relentless hammering that pounded against his skull. Cold sweats drenched his forehead, jolting him awake as he shot upright from the sofa, disoriented and disheveled.

His vision was initially blurry, making it difficult to discern his surroundings in the darkness. The only illumination came from a streetlamp filtering through an open window. With bleary eyes and trembling hands, he pushed back the veil of his dark, curly locks, struggling to focus through the haze of pain.

After a minute or two, it began to ease, allowing V to stand up. Despite his blurred vision, the familiar surroundings gradually came into focus, causing him to pause. His heart clenched with a mixture of dread and longing as he surveyed the room. When had he last set foot in this place? He had sworn never to return after causing her so much pain. Yet, fate seemed intent on toying with him.

Images flashed before his eyes, fragments of the past colliding with the present in a tumultuous whirlwind of emotion. Unable to remain still, he hurriedly left the place.

The city streets stretched out before him, a labyrinth of shadows and secrets waiting to be unraveled. Danger lurked around every corner, a malevolent presence that threatened to consume him whole. But he could not afford to falter, not when he was on the brink of uncovering the truth he had spent a lifetime searching for. As he navigated the labyrinthine streets, his mind raced with thoughts of the past and the future that lay ahead. He was on the verge of a breakthrough about his parents' death, the city, and the chip. He had connected the dots; now he needed confirmation.

Upon reaching his place, he darted into his room and rummaged through his drawers in search of something to reactivate the chip on his wrist. He had deactivated it for safety when the other Taehyung had taken over his body to protect him from those hunting him. Realizing that the chip was no ordinary one but an alpha chip, crucial for evading the authorities, he had temporarily incapacitated the original host which is himself with a poisoned syringe.

Now, the chip had glowed the previous night, sensing another attempt to hack into its system. It alerted the original host, prompting him to take action and confront the approaching danger.

For a brief moment, Jimin's composure wavered, his shock barely concealed beneath a thin veil of calm. Yet, like a skilled actor, he swiftly masked his surprise, shaking his head with a casual chuckle as he tapped his friend's shoulder. "Nice one, V," he smoothly lied, the tension thickening in the air around them.

However, V, seeing through the charade, didn't buy into the act. With a swift motion, he brushed Jimin's hand away, his gaze piercing through the facade. How could he have ever trusted this man—the one responsible for giving Lisa the drug, thereby ruining their friendship. Moreover, he was the same individual who engaged in manipulative conversations with Jisoo, orchestrating events within their group. Continuously casting doubt on Yoongi's allegiance, he also belittled Namjoon and drove Jungkook away from their group.
