The next morning Makoto stormed out of his room and frantically looked around. Surely this was a cruel joke. His sister wouldn't leave him like this would she? She needed him to protect her.

He banged on the door to the Captain's quarters. Surely she was with the Captain. Rouge growled. "Whoever is at my door knocking, go the hell away!" It continued, she manages to drag herself out of bed, before putting on a robe. She slammed the door open. "What?!" She spat unhappily. She wasn't a morning person.

"Is she in there with you? Is this some kind of sick joke the two of you are playing on me? Because it isn't funny!" He held the note up. His eyes prickled with tears he refused to let fall.

Rouge looked at him confused. "Sakura isn't in here. She always leaves after a few rounds. Since she refuses to stay in here afterwards." Rouge sighs as she took the note and froze as she read it.

"Wait, am I reading this correctly?" She reread it to be sure. "Sakura left." Rouge pulled her robes tighter around her. A look of sadness flashes on her face before she looked up at Makoto. "No this isn't some kind of joke. I would never joke about stuff like this."

Makoto shook his head. "She can't...she can't be on her own. She isn't strong enough..." He turned away as he started to ramble, and the tears he hasn't let fall since his parents' death fell in a salty cascade. Makoto looked back at Rouge. "Can...can we go back? Can we look for her?"

Rouge sighs. "I want to, but Sakura is smart. We won't find her even if we go back." She told him. Her heart broke with this news but she needed to stay strong because Makoto was hurting more than she was. "I know this is hard, but she made her choice. She wanted to be left alone." Rouge's voice cracked slightly at this.

Makoto growls, but he knew she was right. His hands ball into fists and he began to punch the wall. He felt fear for his sister bubble up and not being able to do anything about it. Rouge grabbed his hands to stop him from punching the wall any further.

"As an older sibling, I understand your fear for your sister. You want to protect her from harm and keep her safe, but you can't always be there for them no matter how much you want to. They will eventually grow up and no longer want your help, for they want to do things on their own. We just have to have faith in them, that they will return when they are ready." Rouge spoke from her heart on this matter. As the eldest and very protective of her siblings, she knew this well, but that didn't stop her for wanting to protect and shelter her siblings from the cruel reality of this world.

Makoto studied her for a moment before nodding. "I'm sorry for waking you, Captain." He turns and reports to his post. He remained silent for the rest of the day, refusing any meal offered to him.

Rouge watched him leave with a sigh. She goes back into her cabin and gets dressed before heading to the deck. She constantly stole looks his way. She knew he was hurting, but to neglect one's health isn't any good. "Rosi!" She calls to her brother. He looks up at her.

"Hey sis, everything okay?" She shook her head.

"You need to go check on your boyfriend. He isn't doing well." Rosi looked over to where Makoto was. He could tell the man was not doing well. He walks over to him and wraps his arms around him.

"You wanna talk about it?" Makoto only looked down slightly at his lover before refocusing on his task with a sigh.

"Not much to talk about." He grumbles. "She's gone." He whispered the last part. He was trying so hard to keep his composure.

"She is. But that's no reason to let your health decline. You need to eat." Rosi snuggles into him.

"I will be fine. Eventually."
