Hi all!  I got motivated today.  The rain always does that to me and it's been raining for like two days straight.  So I got chapter 20 done.  Don't hate me.  I kind of broke my own heart, but the next few chapters are going to focus on Finn so  I hope you enjoy this part. It's short but I tried to pack in as much emotional damage as I could.

As Usual I don't own anything, it all belong ASP but i love playing with them.

Let me know! It feels so good to be back.

Chapter 20 - *Look Away

"Congratulations on the book, Love. You deserve the world."

Rory can't seem to tear her eyes away from the words, even though she knows she should. She's here, with Logan, and he's amazing, and just, he's perfect. She'd just told herself that she was ready for this. Ready to cross this line, and be with him in all the ways she knows he wants so badly. But right now, in this very second all she can see are Finn's words and wonder how he even knows about something she herself just found out.

When she forces her blues back to his brown she can see the sadness reflected in them. They aren't accusatory, they are just sad. He leans back on his heels as he continues to watch her. She tilts her head , her eyes never leaving his and says, "I'm sorry."

He makes no movements. He just tilts his head back at her too. She pushes herself up on her elbows and reaches out to him but he backs away, this time moving to sit on the edge of the bed a moment before pulling on a pair of grey sweat pants from the floor and leaving the room.

She too dresses again and follows out of the bedroom to find him alone on the back patio, the bracelet box now empty as the music he had started earlier still plays. She moves to him and touches his shoulder. Silently he turns and pulls her into his arms to dance. That first dance plays silently in both their heads....

"What?' He can't help himself but to pry.

"Why did you come?" She asks

She's not the kind of girl you just fuck around with. That he knows with such certainly that it scares him. She's the girl you lose your heart too and he's just not ready to do that. "Open Bar." He smiles, trying to distract her. Surely she's been witness to his carefree drinking enough to believe that.

"Quite a draw for a guy with an American Express Black card." She says and it surprises him to hear the irony in her voice and not the awe at which most girls view his relationship with money.

But then, she's not most girl. Keep it fun, Huntzberger, he says to himself again, "Live band, salad, butter pats,.."

"Logan," she interrupts but he keeps talking.

"Little bags of those Jordan almonds."

"Are you ever going to ask me out?" He smirks. She has no idea what she's asking of him.

"You flirt with me, you act like you like me a little. You show up here with a friend, not a date. I mean, aren't you, ever? You do like me right?"

"Oh, ok, umm." He hears her saying and realizes that she's beginning to back out of his arms. "Ok, I'll just umm, let you go back to your table, and I'll start burrowing directly into the ground."
