45. Bittersweet

Wonho, Jungkook's father always trusted and cherished him. Taehyung could always feel it. Perhaps more than necessary, Taehyung knew very well that Wonho cared deeply for him and his father. 

Then, How could he live without contacting him for 7 years? 

No matter what excuse there was, Taehyung couldn't shake the feeling that he was really being rude. Today, Taehyung could feel that Wonho was truly happy to have him back, as if he had found his lost son. Taehyung felt really comfortable in Wonho's arms, as if he was being held by his own father. The memories of he and Jungkook's childhood that he heard from Wonho made Taehyung happily reminisce about those times he missed.

But also, Meeting Wonho made Taehyung think about things he had forgotten for a while. What he had completely forgotten as he was pushed around by the many things that happened to him that he remembered and that he could not remember.... Jeon Jungkook is the only heir of JK Group.

And Taehyung clearly remembered the gaze of the old magnate who always watched them reluctantly. His... Jungkook's grandfather's gaze always made him feel like he was trying to find his flaws, and Taehyung acted more confidently in front of him so as not to be intimidated. If there was anything he didn't want to recall from the times he remembered, it would definitely something related to that old magnate.

Even so, the time spent with Wonho and Jungkook allowed Taehyung to feel the warmth of family for the first time in a while.

But, after returning to the dormitory and even Jungkook left for a while to meet Namjoon, Taehyung was left alone,  and the reality began to dawn on him. Jeon Jungkook is the only heir of the JK Group, and his grandfather would never be happy to see his beloved grandson with an worthless  person. That was a clear and unchanging fact.

Taehyung, who realized all that reality, was so weak. It became clear to him over and over again that he was a mess. It's a total mess. His broken memories, his times he can't even remember... Taehyung was scared that he would wonder what had happened to him.

Can't everything just stay like this...?

Taehyung already knew it was a vain dream. Jungkook's grandfather might already be planning something to keep them apart. Taehyung knew that the reason they could be together now was because the old man hadn't done anything yet.

Taehyung shed tears.

When Taehyung heard from Jungkook that they had been in love for a long time, it was hard for Taehyung to believe it, but he naturally accepted it. Funny enough, it seemed like such a fitting thing to do. As if it could happen at any time. And now Taehyung could feel that this was like a dream that he might wake up from at any time. A dream that he never wants to be wake up...

But Taehyung was already ready to give up everything. Taehyung didn't want to admit it, but he was so weak in front of the great name of the JK. There was nothing he could do for their love. If they had to break up in the end... Taehyung wondered if he should just disappear for Jungkook's sake. As their feelings for each other deepen, the separation will becomes unbearable.

But then, his father's voice in his dream came to mind.

Tae, don't think about anything. If you're happy, don't think about anything else.

"Dad... Is that really okay? I don't want to hurt him..."

But he knew they would get hurt no matter what. And soon, Taehyung found himself wishing he could give him more love while they could together, if... it was inevitable that they wouldn't get hurt.
