"'Die's one of my favorites. What can I say, the angsty ones get to me.'" The note admitted. No one was particularly amused with that. "'It's a, uh, general themes song. Not from anyone's perspective really, though I think some of you might find the themes familiar. It's not particularly pleasant, it's another warning but without the rebuttal. Think of it as...what the villains want. I guess it might be a villain song by that definition? Anyways, here you go.'"

[It was just fine
We lived in peace
Looked to a happy ending]

"Yeah, we were doing pretty good at that, then you showed up." Yang deadpanned.

"Well...a warning is a warning." Weiss pointed out.

"Honestly, it feels like we're just gonna repeat ourselves." Blake admitted.

"Well, we'll do it as many times as it takes for them to listen!" Ruby declared.

[The days were bright
They shined like gold
Every step ascending]

"Okay, don-don't call back to the nice song, please." Ruby asked.

"That's just mean." Nora agreed.

"Dick move." Yang agreed, her eyes turning red for just a second. "Dick move."

"...why do they call it that?" Weiss wondered.

"Best not to contemplate such things." Ren opined.

[Our dreams came true
Our path was clear]

"Was it?" Blake asked. For some of them, sure, but for others...not so much.

"I like to think...it would have. Will? Argh, tenses are hard." Weiss groaned.

"Don't worry, that won't be a REAL problem until next time!" Yang grinned. Ah right, after that it was their future.

[The moon watched
Safely from above]

"Thing's kinda broken." Nora pointed out. "Don't know how it can do that."

"There are old religious stories that think the moon is where souls go when they die." Pyrrha then explained.

"The cracks are all the sinners, damaging the Sphere of the Gods." Blake finished. "Didn't know you were well versed in that stuff."

"Well, I dabble." Pyrrha explained.

As far as Ozpin could remember, that...definitely wasn't it. But then, he didn't remember much between his sickness and being given his mission, so maybe it was. How would he know?

[But every smile is not the same]

"There's your happy smile, your sad smile, your broken smile, your relived smile, your evil smile, your "imma stab people" smile, and so many more!" Nora excitedly exposited. Everyone knew that she was just trying to bring some levity and so let it pass.

[And every heart's not
Filled with love
For mankind]

"Sad but true." Blake agreed. "Some people just...feel like they only exist to cause others pain."

"Or to benefit only themselves, damn anyone else." Weiss added.

"Or they just leave you..." Yang muttered.

"...Yeah." Ruby admitted. "I loves me a good redemption arc, but like...some people just can't. I know that. They don't want to. But I can try for the ones that can."
