Arc 4 Chapter 27: Sorry

Candle rushed out of the building, looking for Fan. Once she was out, she saw him sitting on the stoop, strolling through his phone.

"Hey Candle." He greeted her, but not happily.

Candle sat down next to him, needing to talk to him. Fan got off his phone & apologized.

"I'm sorry. I should've listened to you back there. It's just... They needed help, & I had an idea. & I wanted... Needed to tell them."

Candle thought about what she told him through the phone & apologized.

"It's okay, Fan. But I should be the one apologizing. I just didn't want you to be embarrassed. But you did what you needed to do."

The two stayed quiet, but Fan broke the silence, asking her a question.

"Do you think it's possible to join back in the game?"

Candle thought about it for a while. She never thought about it, & she had no idea if it was even possible or not. But she gave him her answer.

"I honestly don't know, because I never really thought of it. But... That doesn't mean I'm not going to support you." She rested her hand on his shoulder & smiled.

Fan smiled back at her, grateful for her comfort.

"Thanks Candle. You're a really great friend." He thanked her as he got up to leave.

"Going back to the hotel?"

"Yup. I'll see you later." He waved at her.

Candle smiled & waved back as he flew. Once he was gone, Golf Ball & Puffball came out of the building.

"Where's Fan?" Puffball asked.

"He just left. But I can tell him for you guys." Candle offered.

"Good. Pin wants to talk to him." Golf Ball explained.

The three entered a room, where Pin was working behind her desk.

"Fan left, but Candle has offered to take the news to him." Golf Ball reported.

"Alright. Thanks for the news." Pin thanked her assistants as they left the room, leaving her with Candle.

"Take a seat." She offered her.

Candle sat in the chair in front of her & waited.

"So, what do you need to tell Fan?"

"Well, it's about his idea." Pin spoke to her once she got off her computer.

"Yes?"

"Well, his idea COULD work & help the citizens & stop the extermination."

"Really!?" Candle asked, both surprised & a bit excited.

"Yes. However, in order for us to fully accept the idea, it must actually work."

"O-Okay. I'll let Fan know as soon as possible. Thank you. He'll be thanking you." Candle excitedly thanked her as she got up & rushed towards the door.

"& one more thing." Pin stopped her.

Candle stopped as she listened.

"We make a great team back there." She smiled.

Candle smiled back & nodded & left, trying to call Fan.

Test Tube walked back to the hotel, thinking about everything that happened. Once she arrived, she stood in front of the door & took a deep breath. She opened the door & saw everyone in the parlor, looking back at her.

"Hey. I'm-I'm sorry I got so crazy today. It's just... I wanted everyone to trust us before the extermination came, & when it does, I want you to defend yourself. So that you can have a reason worth fighting for. Again, I'm sorry."

Everyone stayed silent, taking in her apology. Lightbulb went over to her & was the first to speak.

"No, I'm sorry. I'm sorry I put pressure on you. We work as a team. I guess I just thought all this would be easier, but we'll figure it out... Together." She held her friend's hand, smiling.

"Yeah. Maybe the BDSM thing was a bit too much." Paintbrush said.

"You think?" Test Tube raised an eyebrow.

The two of them laughed a little. Bot went up to her.

"Hey, I'm glad you're okay." They smiled at her.

"Thanks." Test Tube smiled back at them.

"I mean, hey, I got to see a buff object beat the shit outta you." Paintbrush pointed at Taco, causing everyone to laugh but Taco.

"Dick, that was unpleasant!" She yelled at them.

"Yeah, but it sounds funny." Yang laughed.

"I loved that part!" Bow also laughed.

...

Fan was floating to the hotel, talking to Candle on the phone excitedly.

"I can't thank you two enough. Okay, I'll talk to you later, Candle. Bye." He hung up.

He opened the door & entered the hotel.

"Everyone, I have excellent news!"

Everyone focused their attention on him as he explained.

"What is it?" Lightbulb asked.

"So, I got good news, & bad news. The good news is, I told them about the hotel, & they think that it could actually work!"

"Really?" She asked excitedly.

"Really! But the bad news is, in order for them to take it, it must actually work." He finished.

"... Then, that means we need to try harder before the extermination." Lightbulb thought about it.

Everyone agreed & went back to their own business, but Test Tube pulled Lightbulb to the side to talk to her.

"How do we know he's not lying? Or if this is his & the other overlords plan to take over the island?" She whispered.

"Again, we don't know that. Try not to think about it."

The two looked back at Fan. Fan smiled & waved at the two, causing Test Tube to blush.

"Yeah. You're done thinking about it." Lightbulb jokes.
