Arc 6 Chapter 39: Attack At The Hotel

Everyone in the bar were talking to each other, having a pretty good time. As they did, Lightbulb ran to the parlor & laid on the couch, crying. Test Tube chased after her & sat down next to her, trying to comfort her.

"It's okay. Ignore him. It's going to work, I promise."

The others stopped talking & watched, feeling bad for the princess.

"What happened?" Paintbrush whispered to Fan once he entered.

"A lot. But to sum it up, her father is a dick." Fan answered & floated towards Lightbulb to help comfort her.

He sat down next to her & patted her on the back, comforting her.

"It's okay. It's okay."

Test Tube watched him as he comforted her friend, a bit surprised.

"... He called us trash & terrible people. Doesn't that make you mad-"

"I didn't like how he talked to both of you."

Test Tube stared at him in shock as he continued to comfort Lightbulb. He's selfless & prioritizes others over him. Overlords are selfish & only care about themselves. But do they all?

Before she could say something, everyone heard a loud thud from outside.

"What was that?" Lightbulb stopped crying & stood up.

"Geez! What now!?" Test Tube got up & ran to the window to see what the ruckus was.

She saw a group of thugs outside the hotel, trying to break the door down.

"Bell, we know you're in there you lousy bitch!"

Everyone looked at Bell. She looked back in shock.

"Wait, what!? I didn't mess with anyone to cause this. Really!"

"Then why the fuck are there a gang trying to break inside to find you!?" Test Tube yelled at her.

Bell froze in shock & confusion, trying to explain.

"I... I-I don't... I have no-"

Fan could tell Bell had no idea what was happening. & he noticed how upset she was.

Just before he could say something, some fireballs crashed inside. Everyone began to run & panic as they tried to hide.

"Everyone, get a safe distance. I'll take care of this." Test Tube warned everyone as she pulled out her gun.

Before she could run to the door, she felt her arm grabbed. It was Fan.

"No, my dear. Leave it to me. Trust me."

Test Tube was going to refuse his offer, but he looked serious. She let out a breath & moved out of his way. Fan nodded & ran outside, standing in front of the gang. They got their weapons ready to attack him, but Fan made the first move.

He began to slowly float off the ground. As he did, many tentacles came out from behind him. He began to grow large, bigger than the hotel, & stared down at the thugs. His eyes were glowing red & his smile stood big.

"I will devour each & every one of you!"

The objects dropped their weapons & ran off, screaming for their lives. Once they were gone, Fan turned back to his normal size, his tentacles disappeared & his eyes were back to black & red.

He walked back inside, & everyone stared at him in surprise.

"You can do that!?" Paintbrush asked him.

"Yup. I only use it as an image, though. I don't actually use it to attack. Besides, I have a much bigger & scarier form." Fan explained.

"Yeah. Well, maybe we wouldn't have been attacked if it wasn't for someone." Test Tube glared at Bell.

"Test Tube..." Lightbulb whispered to her friend, not wanting to start a fight.

"Look, I have no idea who they were, really!"

"Uh huh."

Paintbrush noticed Taco wasn't in the room, as always, but she didn't come out during the entire attack.

"You know, Test Tube, Taco isn't in here. & she didn't come out once while we were being attacked. Isn't that a bit odd?"

Test Tube thought about it more. They were right.

"That bitch." She mumbled to herself.

"Why don't you give me & Bell some time." Fan suggested as he led Bell outside.

The two walked outside of the hotel. Once they did, Bell began to apologize.

"I'm sorry! Really! I had no idea who they were, &-"

"Bell, it's not your fault. You did nothing. It could've been Taco since she tried to attack & blow up this place a few times. But I don't think you did anything. Really. In fact, if you want, you can stay & live here." Fan offered.

"Thanks. But, I can't. I have things to do, parties to attend. But I'll keep the offer." Bell slowly smiled.

Fan nodded, respecting her decision.

"I guess I should head out, then. Got a lot of things to do." Bell got ready to leave.

"Okay. I'll let the others know you said bye." Fan was heading back inside.

"& one more thing." Bell stopped him.

"Yeah?"

"You & Test Tube would make a cute couple." She left & giggled a little.

Fan watched back, blushing. He quickly shook it off & went back inside.
