Arc 5 Chapter 30: Less Than Lovers?

Paintbrush waited for Fan in the parlor. They strolled through their phone, & looked up to see Yang at the bar, drinking a can of Dr. Fizz, as usual. Paintbrush thought for a little & got off their phone & walked over to him. They sat down on a chair & looked at him, much to his annoyance.

"The hell do you want?" He asked.

"Nothing. Just... Thinking."

"'Bout what?"

"... You going to the masquerade?"

"Not really, no. Why? You want me there so you can fuck? Or the other people there? Because I'm not into sluts, guys or other genders. I'm straight." He explained, a bit angry.

Paintbrush still looked at them, not changing emotions.

"Look, if we go together, we don't have to do that. I might fuck someone there, sure. But, if you're not into me, overall, fine."

Yang took a sip of his drink & responded.

"Fine."

Once they were done, Fan walked down the stairs towards them.

"I said bye to Bow & Bot. I'm ready to look for my outfit for tomorrow night."

"Good. Let's get out of here." They got up, not looking or saying anything to Yang.

The two left as Yang watched. But as he did, he started to feel a little bad.

As Fan & Paintbrush walked through the city, Fan wondered what happened between them & Yang.

"So what happened between you two?" He asked them.

"With who?"

"Yang."

"Uhh... Nothing."

"Really?"

"Yeah. So, how have you & Test Tube been since you asked her?" They asked, trying to change the topic.

"Why, great actually! This morning, I waved at her & she waved back. She may not have been lookin' at me, but still."

"Good to know."

"Yeah. But back with Yang, if he says anything or might get to the point of offending someone, he doesn't mean to. He's just been through a lot. So it's really hard for him to fully trust other objects." Fan brought up.

Paintbrush stayed silent & thought about both everything that happened at the hotel & what Fan just said. The two arrived at a building with a sign reading "Silver's porn studio & magnificent clothes!" The two walked in & saw Silver on the phone.

"Yeah yeah, I want those orders here by next week, &... I gotta go." He hung up once he saw the two.

"Painty! Fan! It's great to see you two here!" He greeted them as he walked over to them.

"Thanks. You too." Fan smiled.

"So, how can I help you two today?"

"We need to find an outfit for this lovebird here." Paintbrush explained as they pointed at him.

"Really? Why didn't you tell me before, Fan. I have many outfits to choose from."

He took the two into a large closet filled with different outfits. Silver & Paintbrush looked around to find the perfect suit as Fan waited. Silver pulled out a light blue suit & showed it to him.

"How about this? It'll look magnificent on you!"

Fan examined the suit a little, but wasn't feeling it.
