6 months later, Pune, Maharashtra

A woman was sitting very tired on a chair. Her face was gaunt and her hair was very thin. It looked like she was very sick. Nevertheless, as she slowly got up and peered around the kitchen, she said in a very cheerful voice,

"Megha, please Pihu ke liye khaana bana dogi. Pata hai woh mere haath ka hee khaati hai par aaj meri tabiyat kuch zyaada kharaab lag rahi hai."

"Haan Purvi . Tum aaram karo. Main phir keh rahi hun, hum Dushyant aur Ishita jee ko bula lete hain na. Kitne mahine ho gaye. Tumne apni zidd ke chalte mujhe kuch bhi bataane nahin diya. Ek-aadh baar unhe phone kar leti ho, video call ki strict manahi hai. Pihu ko bhi bilkul video call pe bataane se mana kiya hua hai!"

"Shaant ho jaao Megha tum. Maine kal hee Dush bhai se baat ki hai. Is weekend pe woh dono aa rahe hai. Pihu ke liye surprise hai. Isliye...."

She couldn't finish her sentence as she was consumed by a sudden bout of coughing. Suddenly, she started feeling unconscious with a shooting pain in her body. Megha rushed towards her, supported her and made her lie down. Seeing her condition, she phoned Purvi's doctor directly.

"Doctor, Purvi ki haalat bahut bigad gayi hai. Bahut body ache bhi ho raha hai."

"Tum ek kaam karo, Purvi ko phataphat hospital lekar pahuncho. Main aa rahi hun. Pihu kahaan hai?"

"Pihu abhi toh school mein hai. Par baad mein use lene bhi jaana hoga".

"Chalo, tum abhi hospital pahuncho, jaldi!"

Listening to the urgency in Dr. Rishita's voice, she immediately supported Purvi while they walked towards the car. As Purvi lay down in the backseat, Megha drove the car to the hospital as fast as she could.....

Missionary Hospital, Pune, 11:00 AM

Megha managed to reach the hospital in 30 minutes while talking to Purvi all the time, ensuring that she stayed awake. As they reached the door, she ran calling for a stretcher. The junior doctor who rushed outside, saw Purvi's condition and immediately admitted her in the private room with all the requisite machines and equipment. Meanwhile, Dr. Rishita walked in with a worried look on her face. As Megha explained to her what happened, she rushed inside the room to examine Purvi.

Megha couldnot contain her tears any longer and she decided something. Taking out her phone, she dialed Dushyant's number.

"Dushyant ji..Dushyant ji..", she sobbed on the phone, unable to contain herself any longer.

"Megha? Kya hua hai Megha? Tum itni ghabrayi hui kyun ho? Sab theek toh hai na?"

"Jee, kuch bhi theek nahin hai! Aap aur Ishita jee please jaldi aayiye. Purvi ki tabiyat bahut bigad gayi hai. Woh yahaan hospital main hai".

"Kya? Yeh tum kya keh rahi ho Megha? Purvi ko kya hua? Abhi kuch din pehle hamaari baat hui thi. Tab toh sab theek tha? Ab aise, achanak?"

"Abhi bataane ka bilkul waqt nahin hai! Bus aap aa jaayie jaldi."

"Chinta mat karo tum Megha. Main aur Ishi ACP Sir se permission lekar bus nikal rahe hain. Hospital ka address message karo mujhe phauran ", Dushyant's voice held a hint of panic now. But he convinced himself to stay strong for Purvi's sake as he rushed towards ACP Pradyuman's cabin....

Missionary Hospital, Pune, 3:00 PM

Dushyant and Ishita could be seen running towards Purvi's room with concern writ large on their faces. As they rushed into the room, they were momentarily stunned. Purvi was lying down with her eyes closed. Her face was pale and gaunt and she looked unrecognizable. A lot of wires were running through her and a machine continuously beeped at the far right side of the room showing her heartbeats. Even as they both looked at it with their limited expertise, they could see that her beats were extremely erratic.
