Chapter 30. Two Months Later

Peter stared at the naked man next to him, and a sadness creeped up on him. After they lost the baby, Peter told Bella and Alex that he'd done with them. Peter blamed Alex for pushing him to try again, and he didn't blame Bella, but he couldn't push away his sadness if Bella was still around. "Pete.. I think we need to take Cole to Alex's place one of these days. I just want him to grow closer to Alex." Sean started to put on his clothes.
Peter stood up and helped. Sean buttoned up his shirt. He kissed Sean's nipples and asked if they felt hurt from last night. Bella is finally inching out of the bedroom. "Peter." She called Peter gently.

My marriage to Alex was done before it began. I am happy now. I don't want you to apologize for anything. Okay?" He tilted her face up and wiped her tears. Alex pushed Peter away. "You can't touch her anymore." He ordered Peter.
"I won't." Peter gently moved away and put a distance between him and Bella.

I moved back because I heard our company that we built is struggling. I want to buy it back, and I want to work with you again. Bella needs us, baby." He grabbed Peter's wrist.
"No, Alex. I moved on. You can send the divorce papers to Ken's address. I am happy with him and Sean now. You have no idea how great it is to be free from your toxicity." He shoved Alex's hand away.
"I'm not sending you any divorce papers. I still want you." Alex started to sob, but Peter just scoffed.
"No, your tears don't mean anything to me anymore. I care about you and Bella, but I realized now that you are so toxic that I never feel happiness with you. I just forced myself to be with you because I feel guilty. I don't feel that anymore, even if you cry in front of me and beg me to stay." Peter shook his head.
Alex rubbed his eyes. "Fine, just send Cole here every weekend then. But I am not signing any divorce papers. I want to get our company back."
"I'll drop him." Peter walked out after that. There's some relief inside him. He apparently lost all pity for Alex, and he doesn't know when that will happen. He cares about Alex and Bella, but he doesn't feel the same way as before.
He picked up his phone that's been buzzing for a while. It's Ken, and he knew Ken was worried that he would lose Peter to Alex again. "Hey, babe."
"So... do I need to cancel tonight's date?" Ken took a deep breath.
