Dallas follows Myah and Julia in the mall, sighing loudly. He's not a very social guy and hates crowds. Being out in public with so many people give him anxiety. He especially hates shopping and sees no point in spending hours and hours in stores buying clothes.

"I can hear you, Dallas," Myah says, glancing over her shoulder.

Dallas sighs heavily. "I hate it here. We've been to three different stores."

"That's because we have a few more to go to, and then food!" Myah says with a smile.

Julia notices Dallas's lack of enthusiasm. "Not much of a shopper, huh?"

"No," Dallas says, crossing his arms.

"He's not a people person," Myah says. "But I brought you out here today because you seem... off."

Dallas was silent for a moment. He hasn't told them about his soulmate yet. He wanted to keep it to himself as he was not very proud or happy about it. Caleb isn't a very likable guy, especially in their friend group. Nix side-eyes him as he walks alongside Dallas. He doesn't say a word.

"What's up with you?" Myah asks, rolling her eyes.

"Don't worry about it." Dallas says, shoving his hands in his pockets.

Myah sighs. "You didn't answer my calls or my texts for four days! You kept declining nights out..." She says as she stops walking to turn to face Dallas. "And yesterday I saw you stumbling into the club looking like death! You were so pale... And an hour later you...looked fine."

Dallas looks down at her. "...Myah."

"Are you on... Laporazion again?" She asked, her eyes filled with tears.

Dallas's eyes widen. "What-" He sighs loudly. "Fuck, Myah no. I'm not on that shit again."

"Wait you did Laporazion?" Nix asked staring at Dallas. "How the hell did you stop? I heard it could kill you."

"You feel like death after stopping but it's not that hard," Dallas says looking away.

"So, if it's not Laporazion what is it?" Myah asked.

"Did you and Candace break up?" Julia asked, joining in the conversation. "I highly doubt you're on drugs..."

Dallas frowns hearing Candace's name. "...Is that it? Why would you two break up? You guys are so head over heels for each other." Myah says looking at Dallas.

Julia's green eyes widen, and then they sadden. "Did... Did one of you... Found your soulmate?"

Dallas looks away from everyone as he starts to walk away. "Let's continue shopping—"

"Dallas," Myah says, grabbing his hand. "Did you... Find your soulmate?"

Dallas took a deep breath. "Yeah." He felt his chest tighten. He didn't want to talk about this. It still hurts. This was not a conversation he wanted to have, especially not today.

"Holy shit, there's an arcade in here?" Nix says randomly. "Brah, let's go play games while the girls' shop," Nix says, grabbing Dallas's wrist and dragging him away from the girls.

"Wait—" Myah was about to follow the boys until Julia grabbed her arm.

"Myah, he clearly doesn't want to talk about it," Julia says with a sad expression.

"I... He's hurting! I..."

"I know, but wait until he wants to," Julia says. "I saw Candace last night during work... She looked awful; her eyes were red... Puffy... She can't even fake a smile." Julia frowns. "She's not taking it well; can you imagine how he's taking it?"
