Reassurence

Wandas pov
Sensing something was wrong I went to the lab where Bruce is, as I walk in I spot Rose on a bed. 'What happened Bruce?' I ask 'I don't really know except from she ran from her yesterday, Bucky and Steve found her this morning covered in cuts scrapes' Bruce tells me.  There's something missing, 'can I sit with her?' I ask 'of course you can' he replies. Sitting by Rose's side, I hold her hand gently rubbing my thumb on the back of her hand.

'Urg' turning I see Rose waking up 'hey Rose' I smile softly 'Wanda?' She asks 'I'm here' I smile. 'Rose, can I check your obs?' Bruce asks, Rose nods and Bruce begins his checks, 'all looks okay Rose, try to stay calm and rest' he tells her 'okay' she responds quietly. 'How are you feeling?' I ask gently 'sore, confused, hated, unwanted' Rose lists. 'Why?' I ask 'James loves you we all do' I reasure her 'no they don't, I heard them' she answers.  'I had a nightmare, when I went down I heard them say it' Rose tells me. 'Can you show me?' I ask gently 'yeah' she replies softly.

Placing my hands on the top of her head I watch the nightmare that she had, then what happened when she was making breakfast, 'oh Rose, I'm sorry about the nightmare, but that isn't what happened yesterday morning'  I tell her. 'It is I heard them' she tells me 'Rose they were laughing at  Sam, this is what happened' I tell her '  'You are smitten with her' Steve smiles, 'I guess I am' James smiles 'from the first day I met her, I knew there was something special about her. I also had this urge to protect her and keep her safe' James confesses'

'He'll think I hate him' she cries 'he won't think that, he worries that he isn't able to protect you' I reasure her 'Can I show him?' I ask, Rose nods 'okay, try and get some rest' I smile at her.  Just as I leave the room I turn back to see Rose falling asleep.

'Bucky' I call out as I walk into the living area where him, Steve and Clint are 'can I talk to you?' I ask 'sure' he smiles although I can tell he's been crying, I lead him up to my room before we both sit on the bed. 'I've spoken to Rose' I begin, his head turns to face me 'she had a nightmare, and she showed me what it was' I tell him 'I knew  she had a nightmare but she didn't tell me what it was about' bucky say 'I can show you?' I offer 'and then what happened after' I add. 'Yes please' he replies. Placing my hands on his head I show him Rose's nightmare and the events that followed.

Buckys pov

As Wanda shows me what happened from Rose's perspective my heart breaks, I understand why she didnt tell me her nightmare, why she didn't want Clint, Steve or I near her. 'I need to see her' I look at Wanda with tears in my eye 'she's still in the lab resting so take it easy' she tells me.

After leaving Wandas room I head to the lab to see Rose, I'm anxious and a bit scared. I know ill have to go slow at her pace. Walking I see Rose sleeping in the bed, Bruce is working at his desk looking up occasionally. There's a chair by the bed facing Rose which I think Wanda had sat in, moving to the chair i gently take Rose's hand in mine. Hearing her gentle breathing is calming, I feel at peace. Laying my head on the bed holding her hand I fall asleep.

'Jamie?' I feel a hand touching my head, 'Jamie?' Looking up I see Rose looking at me with tears in her eyes 'I'm sorry' she cries pulling her hand out of mine. 'You have nothing to be sorry for' I smile at her 'I do'  rose cries 'I'm sorry I ran' she adds. 'Can I cuddle you' I ask. When Rose nods I stand moving to sit by her on the bed, 'doll it's okay.  Your safe, I'm safe, we are both safe' I say wrapping my arm around her kissing her forehead.

'You are loved so much by papa, by Steve and by me' I say softly gently rubbing her arm. 'Why didn't you tell me about the nightmare?' I ask 'I was scared. The fear of it all being true. The fear of being unwanted and hated made me run' rose cries. 'Of being a burden because I can't read, write or swim. You shouldn't have to be doing this, teaching me how to do it when obviously I wasn't ment to know.' Rose tells me

'Doll, I love you and care so much for you. I want to be able to help you learn how to do the things you can't do.  Papa loves you, he was so happy when we found you and were able to reunite you both. Steve loves you too. Mama loves you, we all love you doll' I tell her.

Rose's pov

After hearing what James says I cry into his chest 'I love you too James, I'm sorry, I'm greatful for all you do. For all Papa and Stevie do' I tell him 'they care so much for you doll' James says running his fingers through my hair. I fall asleep to his fingers running through my hair and his steady heart beat.

'She's sleeping' I hear James quietly say 'jamie' I say softly lifting to look at him 'hey doll, sleep well?' He asks 'always in your arms' I smile at him 'you are so cute' he smiles leaning down kissing me. 'You have visitors' James tells me, he helps me sit up where I see papa and Steve in the room.

'I'm sorry Papa, I'm sorry Stevie' I say 'it's okay Rose' Steve says 'we are all here if you are worried, scared or just want to talk. You can talk to any of us about how you are feeling' papa says 'thank you' I smile at them. 'James, could I talk to Steve alone for a bit?'  I ask 'sure doll' he smiles back climbing off the bed 'we will just be in the living area if you need us' James tells me before walking out of the door with papa.

'Steve?' I ask 'yes rose' he replies 'can you sit up here with me?' I ask 'of course' he smiles. 'Thank you steve' I say looking up at him 'thank you for helping James find me, thank you for being there and helping both of us' I tell him 'it's okay Rose, I'll always be there for you both.' He smiles.

Resting my head on his chest I look up at him, 'Steve, I don't know if I ever told you this but, I see you as an older brother' I tell him 'I am so greatful for having you in my life even if I get angry or tell you other wise. 'I see you as a sister too Rose, ill alway be there for you' he smiles 'and if bucky hurts you, ill kick his ass' he smiles before we both laugh 'love you stevie' I smile 'love you too Rose' he says kissing the top of my head
