third person pov
gus entered the apartment. he had only been gone for an hour, he had to run a few errands. grocery store, pharmacy, just ordinary.
"jj?" he called out, he got no response. "jj?' his panic grew.
the bags in his hand fell to the ground.
her body laid lifeless on the floor.
"jj" gus screamed, "no,no no" he cried in disbelief. "jj, no" he sunk to his knees.
his hand reached for his neck. the world felt like it was crashing around him. she had no pulse.
he called 911, but he didn't know it was already too late.
there was 2 empty bottles of pills on the ground in front of her and a piece of paper with a note.
gus
i'm sorry. i need you to know this is not your fault and that i love you.
i don't think anyone will ever understand the unbearable pain that comes along with the loss of our daughter.
i needed to be with her, she needs me and i couldn't do that for her here.
i'm sorry gus

his tears fell onto the paper, smudging the ink.
he couldn't believe this was real, it couldn't be.
he hugged her limp body, begging her to just come back.
gus could hear the sirens coming from outside. blue and red lights flashed through the windows. before he could process it, paramedics and police filled the apartment.
"help her" he screamed, "i can't lose her too".
in this moment, his life ended too only he was still breathing.
