Izayoi's P. O. V:A month has passed since we started preparing for the Chunin Exam Finals, and I've been training Kai really hard. Amaya has also joined in.
Kakashi and I've also celebrated Ken's fourth birthday on July 20. I was so happy Kakashi was able to be there.
I decide to give my students the day off the night before the Finals, and I was just putting my children to bed.
I kiss Akemi's forehead before I go and tuck Ken into bed. I then kiss his forehead and head to my bedroom. I gaze out the window at the night blanketed village and silently wonder how Kakashi is doing.
I smile and Body Flicker to where he and Sasuke are training, on a high cliff on the outskirts of the village and appear right behind my husband, who's sitting on a log in front of a flickering campfire while reading his pervy book, written by Jiraiya the Toad Sage.
Now behind Kakashi, I thread my arms around his neck and embrace him from behind as my hair forms a red curtain around him.
I kiss the side of his neck as Kakashi lets out a hum of recognition. "Hello, Izayoi-chan," Kakashi greets.
"Hello, Kashi-kun," I chime. "How've you been, training Sasuke?"
"Good."
"And Sasuke?"
"He's been training hard. How about your students?"
I reply as I slide onto the log beside him, "Kai's been training hard and Amaya has been helping, and I'm sure Hiro is training just as hard."
"The Finals is tomorrow," Murmurs Kakashi. I nod as I lean against him and he puts his arm around my waist.
"Yeah. I hope you'll be on time for it," I say seriously.
Kakashi looks innocent as he says, "You think I'll be late?"
"I just have a feeling you're going to make some grand entrance after making the crowd wait so long," I say with a sigh. "Ken wants to go but I'm not sure if I should take him. Akemi will be at the Ninja Academy, though she told me earlier during dinner that she also wants to go and see Naruto fight Neji."
"Are you taking Ken?" Kakashi asks.
"I don't know. I'm still thinking about it," I admit. We fall silent as Kakashi resumes reading Icha Icha Paradise, the fire crackling in front of us. After what feels like a couple of hours, I finally sit up with a sigh, looking to my husband. "I'd better go home and get some sleep. I wanted to visit you tonight because I missed you and couldn't wait till tomorrow."
Kakashi murmurs as he sets his back down and turns to me, "I've missed you, too, Izayoi-chan." We then start to lean in toward each other, with my hand starting to pull down Kakashi's mask.
However, just before I could pull it all the way down, I feel like we were being watched and catch sight of Sasuke, who I thought was sleeping before, peeking at Kakashi and I with one eye open, in the corner of my eye.
I smirk inwardly before I pull away and leave Kakashi's mask in place. He pouts as he asks, "Why did you stop?"
I say teasingly, "Because someone is watching us even though he should be asleep."
In my peripheral vision, I see the Uchiha quickly squeeze his eyes close, pretending to be asleep.
Kakashi pouts at that. "Dammit. I'll have to wait till we're at home, won't I?" He asks.
I nod. "Yes, you will. And, if you're late to the Finals tomorrow, I'll punish you myself."
Cocking his head, Kakashi asks, "What kind of punishment do you have in mind?"
