Chapter 59

Izayoi's P. O. V:

I was in front of my husband in seconds, my body quivering as the brown haired man plunges his sword up near my armpit.

Kakashi gasps as he gazes at me with widened eyes. "Izayoi!"

I hiss at the pain as I glare through my bangs. "I won't let you hurt him!" The brunette pulls his sword free and goes to attack me, but I deflect it and slash my sword across his front. He goes down and doesn't get up again.

I drop to my knees and Kakashi places his hands on my shoulders. "Izayoi-chan!"

"I'm okay, Kakashi," I tell him, but he doesn't believe me.

Leo tells us, "We should hurry to my hometown. It's not that far from here, and you guys can go to the nearest hospital."

Kakashi nods his head as he helps me to my feet. "Lead the way, then."

Leo nods and we follow him to Biei Town.

A few hours later, all of us have our wounds seen to and we now stand before Leo and his parents.

"We thank you for getting our son back safely," Says Leo's mother. "You should stay to recover."

"Thank you," Kakashi says. So we stay for a few days before the three of us return to the Hidden Leaf to give our report to Tsunade.

"Well, I'm glad you three made it back safely," The Senju says after we return home a week later and give her our report.

"Leo also made it home safely, too," I point out. Before we'd left, he'd tried to ask Kasumi out on a date, only for her to elbow him in the ribs strongly enough to make the man keel forward.

Tsunade nods her head. "You're all dismissed until your next mission."

We mutter a yes before exiting the office.

Kasumi begins to walk off and waves to us. "See you guys later!"

We say our own goodbyes before heading home to rest up from the mission.
