Today marks the first day of the off-season which might not mean anything to you but for me, it means my husband is home and all mine for 136 days.

"Daddy! Canon is touching my stuff!!" Riley screeched from the couch.

Okay so not entirely mine... for 3 out of every 6 days he is 'ours'. He gets suffocated with love and attention from me and my three stepchildren. Riley 12, Ryan 8, and Canon 5.
This is our first off-season married we had our wedding last September just a few weeks before Stephen started preseason games. It was an amazing intimate ceremony in Turks and Caicos, we kept it small since Stephen said second weddings weren't meant to be big and shiny.

I was content celebrating with my husband, my parents, my siblings, in-laws, and all of Stephen's siblings/in-laws, a few friends, And of course my adorable bonus kids.

"Canon stop stirring up trouble!" Stephen yelled while walking past the sibling scuffle in the living room and into the attached kitchen where I stood.
"And my beautiful wife who has conveniently been hiding from me all day" he faked a scowl at me before wrapping his arms around me confining me against his body.

"I haven't been hiding all day. And it's only 10:30"

"Really because when I woke up your gorgeous body was missing from our bed. And I showered alone for the first time in a while. Seems like you've skipped out on all my favorite things to do with you" his lips found their way to my neck almost distracting me from defending myself.

"Because you slept through three little kids in our room demanding waffles. And it better not be the first shower alone in a while because you shower at the gym almost every day" I laughed pushing his chest playfully but his solid build didn't move an inch.

"I meant the first shower alone at home. Don't make this weird Mrs. Curry" his muscular arms didn't struggle even slightly when he lifted me onto the counter, which was so hot.
"You should've woken me up I didn't even hear the kids. I could've made breakfast."

"It's your first day off why would I wake you up early?"

"You don't have to be up early making them breakfast. They're supposed to ruin my morning, not yours"

I giggled going back to cleaning the counter just as I was before he came to distract me with his attractive face.
Ryan came into the kitchen putting her plate in the sink. Before walking away with her iPad in her hand.

"Ryan! Did you tell Jordan thank you?"

She turned with her little pigtails swaying with her sass letting out the most dramatic "nope" popping the P for effect.
He was behind me but I could still feel Stephen tense up. He was now in dad mode.

"Ryan Carter!" He said sternly.
"Come here right now!"
she stomped her little feet until she stood right in front of her father with a little pout on her lips.
"Turn around and tell Jordan thank you. Now." Her eyebrows scrunched in mini rage.

"Now," he said in a voice I have only heard a handful of times in our 3 and a half years together.
"Thank you" she mumbled quietly with all her little frustration held tightly.
Stephen put his hand out confusing both Ryan and I.
"iPad. Give it up. No electronics for a week"

She handed her iPad over hesitantly.
"Go clean your plate off and put it in the dishwasher"

Her pout turned into the verge of tears but Stephen wasn't falling for it. He kept his composure until she turned and went to clean the dishes.
He turned to me looking a little defeated.
"Have you noticed the kids have been a little more unsettled when they're home?"

"Very much so yes." I nodded waiting for his displeasure of me agreeing his kids were becoming a little bratty.
"I'm afraid I'll have to talk with their mother about this," he said rolling his eyes.
He has never spoken negatively about the mother to his children in front of them despite her having an affair two months into her pregnancy with Canon.
They don't know why their parents broke up. They just know they're separated now and I think it's best it stays that way.
