AYLAS POV

I woke up gasping for air. Both Klay and Hazel were telling me to breathe.
I tried to stand up but klays arms were still holding me down onto the floor.
"Honey you just passed out you need to sit still for a minute," Hazel said with her hands on my legs adding a bit of pressure.

"I'm gonna call his dad hold on" I looked over to see a friend of Stephens I know I've met I just can't place.
I turned my head to see Klay with his phone to his ear. acknowledging what he just said I move quickly to take his phone from him "No don't call him please don't tell him what happened!" Klay looked at me evidently confused.
"He's going to know what to do"

I felt tears running down Ty my cheeks the same way it's happened countless amount of times tonight.
"No, he's gonna be so mad at me please don't call him" I begged with my hand on his arm.
"He's going to be mad but you're the last person he's going to direct that anger at. We need to call him Ayla"

Hazel squatted down in front of us burying my head into her chest letting me have my meltdown while I could hear Klay calling Wardell.

——

We made it to the police station with minimal mental breakdowns from myself. I sat in between Hazel and Klay while Stephen's dad took care of the legal specialties. Klay had his arm around me while Hazel's hand rested on my leg rubbing it every time I started crying again.

We sat for hours watching people come and go through the doors we were told Stephen and Draymond were behind.
I sat with my knees to my chest and head down letting my self-hating brain work its course.

"Well, it's four in the morning what the hell took you so long?" I lifted my head hearing Klay knowing there was only one person he could be talking to.
Seeing Stephen standing there, shoulders slumped in exhaustion sporting a black eye.
Hazel stood up going to check on Draymond and Klay excused himself saying something about talking to Wardell.

Before I could stand up Stephen was there wrapping his arms around me taking me in the tightest embrace.
I kept repeating sorry but he quieted me with a single "don't" and I wasn't about to push him anymore tonight.
After quite a while of sitting with his arms around me, Klay came over tapping his shoulder.
Steph kissed the side of my head before walking away with Klay. They talk giving me glances every few seconds obviously talking about me.

Stephen came back over reaching for my hand "Hey let's go get you checked out really quick?"
I just stared at his hand "Checked out?"
"Yea I just want to make sure you're alright after everything tonight"
I shook my head feeling the tears coming back for another round... why can't I stop crying.
"I'm fine let's just go home"
Klay came to Stephen's side giving me the same sympathetic eyes he had all night "A you got shoved pretty hard they'll just take a look"

I looked back at Stephen moments away from a full-on sob I shook my head and let out a barely auditable "please?" He leaned down to my level making sure only I could hear him in this room or people "I'm sorry baby but I'm not taking No for an answer on this... it will be quick I promise"

He put his arm around me while we walked outside pulling me into his side to hide my crying from anybody passing by.
Wardell came walking behind us "Hey I'll take you two come with me"

I lay in the hospital bed with Stephen beside me just like he promised but I didn't think he would take it so literally.
Every doctor and nurse that came near made me shrink into him.
A smiley blonde nurse came in I could tell she was being careful not to rush in too fast or too loud like I was a baby bird she would spook or something.

"Alright so we are running your blood test and urine test but while we wait for those results I just want to ask you some questions is that alright?"

I squeezed Stephen's hand while staring at her like she was some alien that was going to take me or something.
Stephen whispered in my ear "You can do it. The faster you answer her the quicker we can go joke"
