Flashback.

"He is cheating on you. Trust me girl I've been in your shoes before." the tall blonde laughed, walking away from Destin, the girlfriend to warriors Stephen Curry.

Destin sat on the couch while waiting for her boyfriend to return from what she was told would be a night with some guy friends.
They two had been together for roughly a year in a half, they moved in together five months before this night, the night she questioned why they did.

She had always had her fears with Stephen cheating on her, he was an NBA star for crying out loud! She was a small-town girl who had a small group of friends, she wasn't a model or actress, she was just 'Destin'.

This morning Destin went out to get a cup of coffee when a girl stopped her after hearing her mention Stephen's name.
She was gorgeous, long blonde hair, perfect skin, she looked to be around 5'10.
She was the girl every girl dreamed about looking like, but that's not what Destin looked like...
She had dark brown hair, she was about 5'5 and was somewhat skinny with a touch of meat on her bones, it made her insecure being in California surrounded by models and other beautiful women when she was just average.

The girl had mentioned how she dated Stephen but it didn't last because he was such a player, she mentioned he would always go out to bars and meet up with other women.
She went on and on about how he wasn't loyal and wasn't capable of settling down especially not with just any normal girl.

Destin didn't know how to respond to her, the whole encounter made her very uncomfortable.
When she got home she didn't say anything about it to Stephen but rather waited to see for herself who Stephen truly was.

He went almost the whole day carrying on like normal but not to Destin, she saw him in a different way.
She wasn't sure if it was her imagination but she felt so cold towards him, she couldn't feel the warm love he used to provide her, her mind was too blinded by the fears of what he could potentially be, or even worse what he is but hasn't shown...

"What did you do today?" Stephen asked as he sat down onto the couch next to Destin draping his arm around her.

"Just got coffee." She said coldly while she moved away from Stephen's embrace.

She sat there thinking about everything the blonde women had said, she didn't believe he could be this cruel man she tried to playoff.
But At this moment she wasn't really positive about anything.

She looked at her phone to see it was 11:30, she let out a shaky breath trying to conceal her feelings but unfortunately, she couldn't, In only minutes she had tears streaming down her face while she expected this to be the end of her relationship.

She found herself covering her mouth so she would stay quiet even though she was the only one home, it still felt weird.

Before she knew it midnight had come and Stephen was just getting home, she heard him quietly close the door like he expected her to be asleep, but she never was when he got home, for some reason she couldn't find enough peace to fall asleep when she knew Stephen wasn't home.

"Hey, baby why aren't you in bed?"
He walked to the couch from behind her, she didn't bother looking back at him.

"It's midnight! Where the hell have you been?"
She shouted, it not only shocked Stephen but Destin as well, she had no idea where this was coming from.

"I was out with some friends baby I told you that"

"How do I know what you say and what you do are the same thing?"

He furrowed his eyebrows in concussion, he knew this wasn't Destin speaking.

He tilted her head up with his hand under her chin so she was looking at him.
"My love I know something is wrong, tell me"

"Where were you?"

"Oaste bar, with Jayson, Klay, and Tyler. It was just us guys. Why?"

"I don't believe you..." she said quietly while more tears fell from her eyes.

"And why is that?"

She crossed her arms and put her head down as the tears came falling even harder then before, if Stephen thought he was frustrated he had no idea because Destin hated herself for how she was acting towards him.

"Why are you acting like this Des? And tell me the truth."

She stood up ignoring Stephen's questions and got ready to head to their room.
Stephen grabbed her wrist and pulled her back next to him on the couch.

"No, we aren't about to start that. We aren't gonna go to bed angry and let this damage us. Something is wrong and we are not getting up until we work this out."

Destin left room for silence while she carefully thought about the next words to come out of her mouth.

"Are you cheating on me?"

Stephen was offended by the question but he knew that it wasn't the time to be angry after finally working the question out of her, he tried to hold his feelings in before blowing this up and scaring her off.

"I would never cheat on you. Not in a million years. If I wanted out of this relationship I would leave, do you understand me? I'm not gonna break you just for fun. You are the only girl in my life, okay?"

She wouldn't stare him in the eyes because the embarrassment of her own question had become too much, but she could feel his eyes on her.

"Now I want to know where that question came from."

"The girl at the coffee shop told me you used to be a player and you don't just settle down with one girl and you were gonna cheat on me and I wasn't good enough for you-"

Stephen had heard enough of her rambling to know he didn't like it, he knew she was only gonna work herself up more and more so it was best for him to cut her off where he did.

"Baby! You even said it yourself I USED to be. I am not that guy anymore, I've grown I met a woman who showed me that life isn't fun anymore. I'm in this until the end. I promise"

Stephen took Destin into his arms while a few tears fell onto his shirt, Stephen wasn't going to be upset just because she worried, he understood a little bit of her insecurities and out for a moment and he wasn't going to make her feel bad about it.
This of a part of relationships, sometimes there is going to be a little crazy thrown into the mix.
But he couldn't imagine it any other way.

He kissed the top of her head while she relaxed in his arms.

"Wouldn't change it for the world" he thought.
