Case 7: What's The Secret of
Wild Glamourous Show? (The
Expensive Box Chapter, Part One)

ROSALINDA

"Your brother joined the Herald Mortiferum to learn how to invent drugs from Satan, just to carry out his plan to kidnap Rosalinda? That's a very weak reasoning, Ajae," Raleigh said bluntly. And he was right – it's a weak reasoning.

"Have you noticed?" Ajae yawned. "If he were to do anything on his own, he’d most likely be caught easily by the police. But if he joins that organization, he’ll be protected. You know how difficult it is to catch them." I looked over at Ajax, who was still sprawled on the floor.

"The police are coming. I didn’t see any members from Herald Mortiferum coming to save them," I said, and Raleigh smirked.

"That means they don’t care about him," he replied, leaning against the wall. "If they did care, someone should have come to save him. As for what happened to Satan, wasn't he imprisoned?"

Ajae sighed. "You two didn’t watch or listen to the news this morning…" Raleigh and I both furrowed our brows in confusion. I was confused about who Satan was, while Raleigh was frowning, unsure of what bad news he’d missed earlier. "The Sentinel Detention Facility reported on the news earlier that Satan escaped," Ajae continued, and Raleigh’s eyes widened. "The cell where Satan was imprisoned alone—only a letter was left inside. And that letter was from Lilith."

Raleigh fell silent, his gaze drifting to Ajax. "Don’t tell me they let him get imprisoned only to help him escape from every prison he’ll be held in?"

"That’s likely to happen," Ajae replied. "Either Lilith or another high-ranking member will help him escape from there."

"But I’m sure they’ll double their systematic surveillance to ensure Ajax doesn’t escape from prison. After Satan’s escape, they’ll be smarter and more careful about guarding Ajax," I shared my theory.

"We’re not sure about that…" Ajae looked at me. "We don’t know what they’re thinking. Herald Mortiferum isn’t your typical organization that the police deal with. Thirty years have passed, and they’re still ahead of their game. Many people have died, wealth has been stolen, and the burden lies heavily on the shoulders of many powerful individuals and the police department." I bowed my head slightly. Thirty years?

"The police sure are slow; we’ve been waiting here for a while now," Raleigh complained, scratching his head. "When are they coming, New Year’s?"

"Did your parents know about this?" I asked Ajae.

"No, I didn’t tell them. If I did, it would ruin my plan."

I just let out a sigh. When I realized I wasn’t holding anything, my eyes widened, and I looked at the open door.

The diary!

I quickly ran over, finding the diary right away, but what puzzled me was that it was placed at the far end of the desk. If I remember correctly, I left it on the desk near the door.

I didn’t put it here.

"A bit late to realize, hm?" A woman with a sweet voice said, alarming me. I slowly turned to where she was. She was behind the door, hiding. She shut the door, but one hand remained hidden behind her back. What is she holding? A knife? A gun? Even though I didn’t know this woman’s reason for being here, she definitely didn’t look like she came with innocent intentions. "Let me introduce myself to you, since Belphegor’s influence on you has made you forget me. How shameful; we’ve met many times, yet now you can’t remember them all." She smiled innocently at me, walking with elegance in each step. "I’m Lilith."
