Chapter, Part Three)

ROSALINDA

We couldn't think of anything. We decided to leave, but now I'm here in his house. We’re inside his room, and he’s reading the diary. I can see the shock in his eyes and the fear in his trembling hands as he reads it.

"There's a lot going on in this diary," he said, closing the diary with a sigh. "The owner of this diary must have been in great pain and trauma before she died."

"Let's focus on the website, shall we?" I reminded him.

"Alright, just calm down a bit. I know someone who could help us." He grabbed his phone from the table. Moments later, his phone was ringing, a sign that he was calling someone. As soon as the call connected, he pressed the speaker button. "Dmitriy, are you busy?"

Wait, huh? I didn't catch the name of the person he’s speaking with.

"Yo!" came the cheerful greeting from the man on the other end. "I'm not, I'm totally free today. What's up, man, need something?"

"Good, can you come to my grandmother's house?" he began. "We need your help."

"We? Oh-ho! Are ya with someone right now? A lady?" I couldn’t help but frown. What's with that last question?

Clark sighed. "Yes, I’m with a girl. We need your—" He didn’t finish because the guy hung up. Clark shook his head and continued reading the diary. "That guy..." he muttered.

Clark is currently living in his grandmother's house, but his grandmother is staying at her oldest daughter's mansion for now, so he's here alone. He chose to live here temporarily because it's close to the school. A few steps, and he’s already there. His family’s house is much farther from the school, so he had no choice but to stay here for a while.

I looked out the window. It’s so dark outside. What time is it? I glanced at his phone, which displayed the time on the lock screen.

It's already eight.

"I thought this diary couldn’t get any worse than it already is," he said, catching my attention as I looked back at him. "But I didn’t imagine it could get this much worse."

I stayed silent.

"This person witnessed cannibalism..." he said, trying not to look terrified as he read. The worst part is about her debut; she knew what kind of meat was used in some of the dishes—a human’s. Because she was horrified, all she could do was stare at the guests eating the dishes containing meat. If that happened to me, I don’t know how I’d react in that terrifying situation.

After a while, the man Clark spoke with arrived, carrying chocolates—Ferrero Rocher in a heart-shaped container.

"Mitri, what took you so long?" Clark asked.

The man just stared at me as he walked closer, with an irritating grin that made me want to pinch his face. "Hey, ma'am, you're looking good tonight, huh? Are ya single? Just let me know, I'll set up a date just for the two of us," he said in a flirty tone, his voice slightly deep, clear, and annoyingly playful. After that, he winked.

"I DIDN'T CALL YOU HERE JUST TO FLIRT WITH HER!" Clark shouted, rubbing his face in frustration. It was the first time I saw him angry; he's usually calm and composed. "We need your help to find a certain website. We can’t find it on our own."
