Mishka POV:

I have always read about Jodhpur in several manuscripts and have also wanted to visit the place but I would have never imagined myself visiting such a beautiful place with the Prince of Jodhpur, my husband.

The architecture of Jodhpur has been characterized by its majestic palaces, intricately carved temples, and vibrant markets. The manuscripts have detailed explainations of the city's buildings, constructed primarily of sandstone, featured ornate facades adorned with exquisite jali work, latticework, and decorative motifs, showcasing the rich artistic heritage of the region.

Moreover the best part of this place is the Bustling Bazaars and Markets, which are renowned for their variety and diversity, attracting merchants and traders from far and wide.

"We are entering Jodhpur, Prince. Within half an hour we'll be entering Mehrangargh fort." the driver announced from the front making me immediately reach out for the curtain to slide and look outside.

In the distance, the undulating dunes of the Desert stretch as far as my eyes can see, their golden sands shimmering in the light of the setting sun. The desert whispers tales of adventure and mystery, gesturing me to explore its hidden treasures and ancient secrets.

As evening descends upon the city, the air is filled with the melodious strains of traditional Rajasthani music, echoing through the narrow lanes and alleyways. My heart suddenly swells with pride as I watch the graceful movements of dancers and the vibrant colors of swirling skirts, their rhythmic steps weaving a tapestry of joy and celebration. I was in awe loooking at the beauty of this place.

"I believe you'll like this place." Hukum suddenly said and I realised that I was staring outside with wide eyes just like a kid. Embarrased I dropped the curtain from my hold and tried pulling my duppatta a bit lower to hide my face from Hukum.

To my utter surprise I heard Hukum's deep, hearty chuckle echoing through the enclosed space of the car, filling it with warmth. I slowly peeked from my long veil to see him trying his best to remain serious but even after that he couldn't help himself chuckling.

"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have..." he tried to explain himself but still betraying his amusement. Watching him smile like that, I could feel as if my heart just skipped a beat. The curve of his mouth and crinkle of his eyes were so captivating that I wanted to memorize his features for the entire life of mine.

There's a charm to his smile, a magnetic quality that seems to draw me towards him a moth to a flame. It's in the way his eyes light up with mirth, reflecting the playful spirit that lies beneath his stoic exterior. In that moment, I feel an electromagnetic pull and connection towards him, a shared understanding that transcends words.

His smile is more than just an expression for me—it's more of a gift, a treasure that I'll hold close to my heart, a reminder of the beauty and wonder that exists in the simple act of sharing a smile with someone you love. I would like to feel as if this carefree version of him is just for me to be seen and no one else, not even a single soul.

I couldn't stop myself from tagging along his chuckle and for a moment forgetting completely that I'm a princess and a wife of soon to be King of Aryagargh.

"Jodhpur was the first kingdom I was appointed by Father to handle and learn the tactics of the royal administration." he said, before going back to his usual stoic self.

"Your first task as a crown prince was to look after Jodhpur?" I asked with wonder.

"Uhmm, and now your first task as crown princess would also be to manage Jodhpur!"

"Pura Jodhpur? Nahi nahi, hum to Raj-Mahal aur uski chizon ko sambhalenge... Jodhpur to aap sambhalenge na Hukum?"

"Entire Jodhpur? No, No, I'll be looking after the Palace and other Household duties... Entire Jodhpur will be managed by you Hukum, right?" I said hurriedly.

"Kyu? ab aap humari patni hain aur itni hoshiyaar bhi hain to apko hi to humare saath saath pura Raj-Dwaar ka kaam kaaj dekhna padega!!"

"Why? Now you are my wife and that too so intelligent one, hence you'll have to be by my side to look after all the Royal Administrative work!!" Hukum exclaimed and I looked at him with wide eyes in shock.

"Look, we are entering the Fort." he said pointing behind my back and before I could say anything else he held my shoulders and turned my face towards the window. The moment he touched, a shiver ran through my body making me gulp down the nervousness a little.

The moment I looked outside from the lofty heights of Mehrangarh Fort, I was greeted by a panoramic vista of breathtaking beauty, a landscape steeped in history and adorned with the hues of the desert.

The sun-kissed walls of the fort, rising majestically against the azure sky, would stand as a testament to the valor and grandeur of her ancestors. Below, the city of Jodhpur sprawls like a tapestry of gold and ochre, its labyrinthine streets winding through the bustling bazaars and ornate havelis. I was just awestruck!

"Kanwarsa, we have arrived the Palace." the driver once again announced and moved towards Hukum's door to open it.

Hukum straightened a little before moving out from the car and closing the door behind. I was about to move but stopped when I heard my side of door opening by none other than Hukum. He offered me his hand and briefly I looked a bit towards his direction before gently taking his hand into mine to get out of the car.

The sun had already set and darkness was slowly taking over the sky, but when I turned around the whole Palace was shining. It seemed as if it was Diwali, so beautiful that I had to stop and just take in its beauty.

"Aayiye biwi ji apka swaagat hai humare Jodhpur main.... nahi nahi Apne Jodhpur main."

"Come dear wife, You are Welcome to my Jodhpur... no not my but our Jodhpur." he said proudly before giving my palm a little squeeze and tugging me a little to walk with him towards the huge doors of the palace where several maids were standing with Puja Plates with diyas for us.

"Raj, my little prince... Welcome home son." a woman standing in the centre exclaimed before taking Hukum into her arms and crying a little as if she missed him a lot.

"Dai Maa... inse miliye humari patni Mishka." Hukum introduced me and I bent down to touch her feet and she took me into her arms just like she did to hukum.

"Mishi, she's my Dai Maa... she is the Suman to my Mother. And not more than a few months have passed when she moved to Jodhpur to take care of her son since he had an accident few months back." he explained.

"Bahu, iski baat mat suno... yeh to badmaash hai. Aao hum apko apka kaksh dikhate hai aur kal aaram se apko pure mahal ki sair bhi karwayenge."

"Bahu (Daughter in law), don't listen to him... he is the naughtiest one. Come I'll take you to your chamber and tomorrow I'll take you for Palace tour." she immediately dragged me towards the chamber.

I can see that she means a lot to Hukum, hence I'm kind of nervous about her opioin for me.
