Mailin's Pov:
Amidst the lingering silence, I turned to face my classmates, a faint blush coloring my cheeks as I addressed them. "Sorry for shouting, I just couldn't take it anymore," I offered, my voice trembling slightly with residual emotion.
Amanda's stunned expression caught my attention, her eyes widened and her mouth slightly agape, as if struggling to process the scene that had unfolded before her.
Amanda's Pov:
I was dumbfounded, never having witnessed Mailin in such a state of raw emotion. The intensity of her anger was both startling and awe-inspiring.
Then it hit me—amidst her furious outburst, Mailin had called me beautiful. My heart skipped a beat as the realization washed over me. My crush had just acknowledged my beauty, a revelation that left me speechless and utterly captivated.
I knew I needed to speak with her, but now was not the time. Our priority was retrieving the sorcerer's stone.
Mailin's Pov:
We mounted our brooms and soared towards the ruins where the dragons dwelled. Positioned behind Amanda, I held onto her waist for stability, feeling my cheeks flush with embarrassment and exhilaration.
Constanze led the way, her tech broom pulling the rest of us along.
"Hey, our magic power is starting to come back," Amanda remarked, her words preempting mine as our brooms regained autonomy.
"That means we're approaching the sorcerer's stone," Sucy observed.
"Look! I think that's it!" Lotte exclaimed, drawing our attention forward.
As we neared the ruins, a fiery projectile hurtled towards us, prompting screams of alarm as we deftly maneuvered to avoid it.
"What's that?!" Akko cried out in panic.
"Over there!" Amanda's voice cut through the chaos, guiding our focus as I tightened my grip around her, determined not to lose my balance. I glanced up just in time to see more fireballs hurtling towards us—dragons were attacking!
"They're the ones who stole the sorcerer's stone!" Akko's voice rang out with indignation as we veered away, the dragons hot on our trail.
"They're gaining on us!" Akko's panicked cry filled the air, followed by a near miss from a fireball that nearly struck her and Lotte.
Constanze swiftly retaliated, firing her gun at the dragons in a desperate attempt to fend them off.
"Listen! We should split into groups!" Amanda's voice cut through the chaos, her gaze meeting mine as I trembled with fear. With reassuring determination, she turned to me. "Don't worry, everything will be okay. I won't let them hurt you."
Summoning my courage, I nodded in gratitude. "Thanks."
Amidst Constanze's barrage of gunfire, Amanda taunted one of the dragons, goading it to chase after us. As the massive creature lunged, Amanda expertly maneuvered past it, narrowly avoiding its reach.
With a swift incantation, Amanda unleashed a spell, causing a distraction with a flower appearing on the dragon's nose. Disoriented, the dragon collided with others, getting entangled in branches before Constanze resumed her assault.
Sucy added to the chaos with her potions, causing explosions that scattered the remaining dragons.
Amanda and I soared towards Akko, who stood beside a crater, her expression wrought with concern. Before we could react, the dragons swooped in, snatching Lotte and Sucy.
"Lotte! Sucy!" Akko's desperate cries echoed through the tumult.
Constanze's attempts to fend off the dragons proved futile as they seized her and Jasminka, leaving us in shock.
"Constanze! Jasminka!" Amanda's voice rang out, mirroring my own disbelief as we watched our friends being taken away.
Then, amidst the chaos, I felt claws dig into my shoulders, pulling me away. Horrified, I screamed for Amanda, tears streaming down my face
"Amanda!" My voice cracked with terror as the dragons whisked me into the unknown.
