Amanda's pov

The day unfolded gracefully as Akko, and I lounged outside. Akko was engrossed in her research, while I sprawled on the grass, enjoying the tranquility of the moment.

Mailin, unfortunately, was occupied with something she deemed critically important and had dashed off. I couldn't shake a niggling sense that she might be keeping something from me. But no, Mailin wouldn't hide anything from her girlfriend, would she?

I let out a frustrated sigh, voicing my discontent. "Ugh, I wish there was something fun to do. This place is so freakin' boring. It's always rules, chores, and homework. Tsk. I should just go ahead and drop out of this stupid school."

Akko, immersed in her reading, responded casually, "When?"

"Tomorrow," I declared, my tone resolute.

"You know... you said that yesterday too," Akko remarked, still absorbed in her text.

"Yeah, but I mean it this time," I insisted.

"Well, you better not let Mailin hear that," Akko cautioned, her words interrupted as I abruptly covered her mouth with my hand.

"Not let me hear what?" Mailin's voice cut through, and I froze, meeting her curious gaze with a sheepish expression.

Oh no, she's caught us. But gosh, she looks adorable when she does that head tilt thing. My cheeks flushed with embarrassment as I released Akko and scrambled to concoct a plausible explanation.

"Nothing! Nothing," I hastily assured her, hoping my flustered demeanor wouldn't give me away.

With an inquisitive look, Mailin observed me for a moment before I diverted her attention elsewhere. One of the points on her shiny rod began to glow, drawing our puzzled gazes.

Intrigued, we decided to seek out Professor Ursula for answers, eager to unravel the mystery before us.

Mailin's pov

"Professor Ursula!" Akko's voice echoed through the library as we entered.

Akko stepped forward, presenting the shiny rod to Professor Ursula, while Amanda and I lingered behind, our hands entwined.

"The fifth word. It's related to old history and traditions," Professor Ursula elucidated, her tone carrying a sense of significance.

"Is it really?" Akko inquired, a hint of skepticism coloring her voice.

Amanda's response was more subdued. "Oh..."

Before Professor Ursula could provide further insight, she was interrupted and hastily excused herself, leaving us with lingering curiosity.

"Did you catch that? I wonder what's going on with Diana," Akko voiced her concern, a furrow forming on her brow.

"Me too," I murmured, contemplating the implications of Professor Ursula's cryptic statement.

Amanda interjected with a mischievous grin, diverting our attention. "Hey, just forget about her." She enveloped us in a playful embrace, her arms draped around Akko's shoulders and mine.

But Akko, ever vigilant, pushed Amanda away, prompting Amanda's arm to slide from my shoulder to my waist, steadying us from Akko's sudden movement.

"Wait, are you serious?" Akko questioned; her curiosity piqued.

"From what I've heard, the Holy Grail is under really tight wraps at Appleton Academy," Amanda divulged, her tone carrying an air of intrigue.

"Huh..." Akko and I exchanged intrigued glances, absorbing Amanda's revelation.
