Mailins pov
In Lotte, Sucy, and Akko's room, I sat with the others, anxiously awaiting news about Akko's whereabouts. Earlier, Amanda had knocked on my door, inquiring if I'd seen Akko. When I informed her that I hadn't, she sighed, expressing her concern over Akko's absence.
As Diana entered the room, Amanda wasted no time in addressing the situation. "So, I heard Akko hasn't returned yet," she began, seeking any updates from Diana.
"Yes," Diana confirmed, her demeanor serious. "It's possible she's still in town."
Lotte pressed for more information, prompting Diana to divulge everything she had discovered. As she finished recounting the details, we gasped collectively, shocked by the revelation.
"No way!" Lotte exclaimed incredulously.
"Is that really true?" Amanda's voice held a mix of disbelief and concern. "Chariot's actions are responsible for Akko's inability to fly?"
Sucy offered her perspective. "Considering how much Akko idolizes Chariot, this must have hit her hard."
Amanda voiced a troubling thought. "You have to wonder if she'll even return."
Lotte vehemently objected to the notion. "Don't even entertain that idea! There's no way Akko would abandon things like this."
"I... I'm sure you're right. Sorry, I wasn't thinking," Amanda conceded, her hand finding mine, seeking solace. I squeezed her hand reassuringly, and she responded with a small, appreciative smile.
"There's something I don't understand," Sucy interjected, her tone reflecting her confusion. "How does Ursula know about all this?"
"We can discuss that later. Right now, finding Akko is our priority," Diana asserted, her voice steady with determination.
A surge of determination coursed through Amanda as she leaped up from her chair. "Count me in! I'm coming with you," she declared, her resolve evident.
"I'll join as well," Lotte chimed in, her expression resolute.
"I'll head to the station to look for her there," Sucy offered, her practicality shining through. Lotte nodded in agreement.
"That sounds like a plan. I'll search along the leyline," Diana decided, her leadership guiding our actions. Lotte and Sucy rose from their seats, ready to embark on the mission.
"Let's go," I urged, the urgency of the situation propelling us into action.
We scoured every corner, leaving no stone unturned in our quest. Amanda soared through the falling snow on her broom, my arms wrapped securely around her waist.
"Come on, Akko! If you don't come back, I swear I'll never forgive you," Amanda exclaimed, her determination palpable. I squeezed her tightly, offering reassurance. "Don't worry, babe. We'll find her," I reassured her, hoping to alleviate her worries.
A faint smile graced Amanda's lips, a glimmer of hope amidst the uncertainty.
After an exhaustive search, it was Diana who made the breakthrough. We hurried to a quaint witch cafe in town, where we spotted them sitting together.
Lotte burst through the door, enveloping Akko in a tight embrace. We followed suit, entering the cafe.
"There you are, Akko," Amanda greeted her, her voice filled with relief.
"You guys! You came to find me too?" Akko exclaimed; her surprise evident.
"Akko says she's not leaving!" Lotte announced, her voice brimming with determination.
"See? I told you that was going to happen," Amanda declared triumphantly. I joined in cheering and enveloped Akko in a tight hug.
With the tension eased, we settled down to enjoy some comforting hot chocolate. The warmth of the drink was a welcome respite from the cold.
As we stepped back outside, the atmosphere shifted. Angry voices echoed through the air, drawing our attention upward.
"What's going on?" Akko inquired; her voice tinged with concern.
"It looks like it's headed toward the Leyline," Amanda observed, her brow furrowing in puzzlement.
"How peculiar. Let's return to Luna Nova," Diana suggested, her tone authoritative.
"Agreed," Akko nodded in assent, and we made our way back to the academy.
Navigating through the Leyline on our brooms, Akko flew alongside Lotte, while I clung tightly to Amanda.
"What is that?" Akko exclaimed; her gaze fixed on something behind us.
"The Leyline is..." Lotte began, her voice trailing off.
"Vanishing!" Amanda's words cut through the air; her tone laced with concern.
"Oh no!" Fear clenched my heart at the realization.
"It can't be..." Diana's voice trailed off, echoing the disbelief we all felt.
Suddenly, darkness enveloped us, and we plummeted downward, our screams mingling with the chaos.
