(Mailin's POV):

I sighed, leaning against the wall of the towering structure that housed the sorcerer's stone. I had opted to accompany Amanda as she tackled her task of cleaning the tower.

"Diana really gets on my nerves!" Akko's voice rang out angrily, her frustration with our classmate evident. "Acting all cool because she can use magic!"

"Right, though!" Amanda and I chimed in, our voices tinged with irritation. "She's always got that stuck-up attitude, just because she's from some famous witch family," we added in unison, sharing a moment of solidarity. Amanda's wink in my direction made my cheeks flush with warmth.

"I'd like to give her a piece of my mind!" Akko and Amanda shouted simultaneously, the tension between them evident as Amanda discarded the sponge she was supposed to be cleaning with.

"Wait a minute, have you been slacking off this whole time? You should be helping me!" Akko directed her attention to Amanda, her tone accusing but playful. I couldn't help but giggle at their banter.

"Mailin, why are you even here?" Akko's sudden realization of my presence snapped me out of my amusement.

I shrugged nonchalantly. "Don't really know. Wanted to stay with Amanda, I guess," I replied, my cheeks warming at the admission.

Amanda's POV:

"Wanted to stay with Amanda, I guess." As Mailin uttered those words, I felt a rush of warmth flood my cheeks, a mixture of surprise and delight washing over me.

Suddenly, something soared overhead, catching our attention. Stepping out from under the tower, I peered up at the sky, curiosity piqued.

"What's that?" I questioned, turning to Akko and Mailin who had joined me.

We followed the trajectory of the flying object, watching as it disappeared at the top of the tower.

"Let's go find out!" Akko declared, wasting no time as she darted off.

I wasted no time either, hopping onto my broom and soaring after her. As Akko mounted the broom behind me, Mailin remained on the ground, watching us ascend with a mix of curiosity and anticipation.

Then, abruptly, my broom slowed and began to descend. Panic surged through me as I realized the gravity of the situation - someone was stealing the sorcerer's stone!

Akko and I landed swiftly, our feet hitting the ground with purpose.

"Come on, Mailin!" Amanda's urgent voice pierced through the chaos, and without hesitation, she grabbed my hand, pulling me along as we sprinted towards the school.

Mailin's POV:

I couldn't suppress a yelp of surprise as Amanda's hand closed around mine, sending a rush of warmth coursing through me. Blushing furiously, I found myself propelled forward as we raced towards the headmistress's office.

We burst into the room, Akko leading the charge with Amanda and me close behind.

"Headmistress Holbrooke! Emergency! The sorcerer's stone has been stolen!" Akko's voice rang out, filled with urgency.

"Tell me what happened," the headmistress responded calmly, her demeanor unwavering in the face of the crisis.

"There were these huge dragons, and they just swooped right in and took it!" Akko explained, her words rushed and frantic.

Professor Lukić interjected, turning towards the headmistress with a grave expression. "Just as I expected, the oracle was right. It's the dragon's wrath," she began before trailing off, her words met with disapproving glares from the other professors.

"What?" Amanda's voice carried a mixture of confusion and concern as she stepped forward, shielding me from view.

"Is that bad?" Akko's question hung in the air; her excitement momentarily overshadowed by the severity of the situation.

"Never mind that, we are already aware of the situation," the headmistress replied, her tone indicating that the matter was under control.

"Is there going to be a mission to save the sorcerer's stone? We'd be more than happy to help!" Akko's eagerness was palpable as she offered their assistance.

"What do you mean 'we'?" Amanda and I exchanged puzzled looks, confused by Akko's implication.
