Soon after, Akko and Amanda were tasked with the arduous duty of hand-washing all the laundry in the school.
Not wanting to see their friends endure the punishment alone, Lotte, Sucy, Jasminka, Constanze, and I decided to lend a hand with the laundry.
"Some of us weren't actually punished and still have to work," Sucy grumbled, voicing her discontent with the situation.
Akko piped up, expressing her frustration and longing to join the effort to retrieve the sorcerer's stone, pedaling her wooden bike with renewed determination.
"We're powerless against dragons," Amanda remarked matter-of-factly as she finished hanging up the laundry, her practicality tempered by a hint of resignation.
Sucy, ever the purveyor of unsettling facts, sent a shiver down my spine as she recounted tales of dragons consuming witches in the past.
"We have to get the sorcerer's stone back! Everyone is counting on us!" Akko declared with unwavering determination, her resolve undiminished by the daunting task ahead.
"Figures, there goes Akko with her usual nonsense again," Sucy muttered under her breath, her skepticism palpable.
"I wouldn't do that," a new voice interjected, catching us off guard. We turned to find Diana entering the room, her presence commanding attention.
"Who let you in here?" Amanda questioned, her tone bordering on defiance as she addressed Diana.
"Professor Finnelan wanted me to relay a message: when you're finished with this task, go gather some water," Diana announced, her tone clipped and businesslike.
"Huh?!" Both Amanda and Akko groaned in unison, their annoyance palpable.
As tensions mounted, Akko and Diana engaged in a heated argument, their voices rising in discord.
"Utterly pointless," Diana remarked dismissively at one point, her disdain evident.
Mailins POV:
"More like utterly ridiculous," I couldn't help but murmur, my frustration bubbling to the surface.
Diana's cutting remarks didn't go unnoticed, prompting Amanda to step in. "Hey! That was a little harsh. Lay off!"
"The same goes for you. No one likes a slacker. Don't cause trouble for others just because you haven't a care in the world," Diana retorted sharply, her words laced with reproach.
A low growl escaped me as I shot a glare full of resentment towards Diana, unable to contain my indignation.
"Excuse me?!" Amanda's scowl mirrored my own defiance, her gaze fixed firmly on Diana.
"Anyway, I gave you the message," Diana stated matter-of-factly, turning to leave. But I couldn't remain silent any longer.
"How dare you?!" I erupted, my voice trembling with fury.
Diana turned towards me, her expression a mix of surprise and irritation, as I stomped towards her with unwavering determination.
"What do you-" Diana began, but I cut her off with a vehement outburst.
"HOW DARE YOU?! How dare you insult them like that?! Akko is an amazing witch, and Amanda is the most incredible, beautiful, and talented girl I've ever met!" My words echoed through the room, ringing with conviction.
As the tension reached its peak, a sudden tremor rippled through the room, causing everything to shake. My eyes flickered with an intense light blue hue, a manifestation of the overwhelming emotions surging within me.
"And if you ever come in here again with a goddamned opinion, I will shove it so far up your ass you'll never see the light of day again!" I unleashed my fury with unrestrained ferocity, my words slicing through the air like a blade.
Diana stood frozen, her eyes wide with disbelief, before turning on her heel and departing without uttering another word, leaving behind a stunned silence in her wake.
As the weight of my outburst settled upon the room, everyone gazed at me in shock, their eyes reflecting a mixture of astonishment and apprehension. I took a deep breath, my chest heaving from the intensity of my anger.
