Suddenly, an alarming sound shattered the tranquil atmosphere. "What's that sound?" Akko's confusion mirrored our own as we scanned the surroundings.
Discovering the source, we realized with growing trepidation that it was a missile hurtling through the sky, controlled by Croix's malevolent magic beasts.
"This isn't good. I can't access it!" Croix's worried admission underscored the severity of the situation.
Chariot conjured a projection above us, displaying the menacing image of the missile. "Is this thing for real?" Amanda's voice quivered with fear, prompting me to grasp her hand, seeking solace in our shared bond amid the mounting tension.
"Why is this happening?" Lotte's voice quivered with concern, echoing the unease that gripped us all.
"The hatred festering in people's hearts... it exceeded my expectations," Croix lamented, her voice tinged with regret. "Hatred begets more hatred, perpetuating an endless cycle of animosity."
"But why was it created in the first place?" Diana's inquiry cut through the tense silence, seeking clarity amidst the chaos.
"Its purpose is to sow discord and despair across the world, spreading negativity until it detonates," Professor Ursula explained solemnly.
"That's absurd! Isn't there any way to disable it?" Chariot's desperation was palpable as she voiced our collective concern.
"Unfortunately, its power has spiraled beyond my control. Attempting to halt its destructive course would be futile," Croix admitted, her tone heavy with resignation. "Much like the moon incident, we are powerless against its unstoppable force."
"We can't just stand by and watch! Together, we can overcome this!" Akko's rallying cry infused us with a newfound determination, urging us to unite in the face of adversity.
"But... it's a missile. How can we possibly stop it?" Amanda's uncertainty reverberated through our group, her skepticism casting a shadow over Akko's unwavering optimism.
"Even if we can't catch up to it physically, we can still try to stop it magically!" Akko's conviction inspired hope, igniting a spark of determination within each of us.
"She's right. If it's a magical threat, then magic may be our best defense," Diana acknowledged, her rationality offering a glimmer of hope amidst the prevailing uncertainty.
"You're all incredibly brave," Chariot remarked, her admiration evident as she surveyed our resolute faces.
"I'm here too!" I interjected, eager to contribute to the discussion and be acknowledged among the group.
"Alright, fine," Amanda relented, her arms crossed defiantly. "You might get hurt if you go alone. I guess we should lend a hand."
"I shall go as well. If Akko and I utilize the Shiny Valley, we're certain to catch up," Diana declared confidently, her determination palpable.
Meanwhile, I continued to linger in the background, attempting to assert my presence amidst the flurry of activity. "Hello?" I called out, hoping to be acknowledged.
"Amanda... Constanze... Jasminka... and Diana, too," Akko expressed her gratitude, acknowledging each member of our group.
"And let's not overlook me and Sucy!" Lotte chimed in, ensuring that everyone received recognition for their contributions.
"Even I'd be concerned if you went alone," Sucy added, her practicality offering a voice of reason amid our enthusiasm.
"Alright!" Amanda exclaimed, placing her hands confidently on her hips. "Let's do this! I believe if we link our brooms together, we can cover a significant distance. No problem, am I right, Constanze?" Amanda turned to the technical genius for confirmation.
Constanze nodded in agreement, affirming Amanda's strategy.
"It's as if I'm invisible in this part of the story," I muttered resignedly as I lay on the ground, my earlier attempts at asserting myself abandoned.
Undeterred, the group proceeded to connect their brooms, forming a unified front for the impending task.
"It's completed," Croix announced to Akko, signaling the readiness of their preparations.
Akko raised the Shiny Valley high, invoking its power with the incantation, "Sybilladura Lelladybura!"
A vibrant green aura enveloped the brooms, imbuing them with newfound vitality and splendor.
"Yeah! That's what I'm talking about!" Akko exclaimed exuberantly; her enthusiasm contagious as the others marveled at their creation.
"Wait a moment," Chariot interjected, joined by Croix as they synchronized their wands to cast a spell.
"Metamorphie Faciesse!"
In an instant, Akko and the rest of us were adorned in stunning, matching white witches' robes, our unity symbolized by our shared attire.
"May you all be blessed by the Nine Old Witches during this battle!" Chariot's voice echoed with solemnity, her words carrying a weight of ancient wisdom and power. I couldn't help but be captivated by the sight of my girlfriend, her presence exuding both strength and grace.
With a unified cry of "Tia Freyre!" they mounted their brooms and soared into the sky, leaving me, Croix, and Chariot to watch their departure.
"Oh, hi, Mailin," Chariot greeted me, finally acknowledging my presence.
"Seriously?! Now you notice me?! Ugh, whatever!" I retorted, feeling a mixture of frustration and resignation as I reclined on the ground.
Moments later, silhouettes emerged in the sky, their descent signaling trouble. "That's them! The first three used up their magic boost! They're freefalling!" Chariot's voice carried a note of concern, mirroring the fear that gripped my heart.
"No! We have to do something!" Croix exclaimed, a sense of urgency coloring her tone.
As I observed the scene unfolding, the fear etched on Amanda's face spurred me into action. "Screw this!" I resolved, pushing aside my apprehensions. With determination, I dashed outside the hut and ascended to the wooden platform's fence.
"Mailin! What are you doing?" Chariot's voice rang out, tinged with worry.
Taking a deep breath, I unfurled my wings and leaped into the air, soaring toward my imperiled friends. Confusion painted their faces as I approached, but there was no time for explanations.
"What the--?!" Amanda's voice trailed off as she stared at my wings in disbelief.
Scooping her up in a bridal carry, I felt her arms wrap around my neck as a blush tinged her cheeks. With swift precision, I flew toward Constanze and Jasminka, extending my hand to aid them.
A blue glow emanated from my hand, enveloping Constanze and Jasminka as I guided them safely to the ground, Amanda securely cradled in my arms. Landing gracefully on the wooden balcony, I folded my wings, drawing astonished gazes from Chariot and Croix.
"Wow," Amanda breathed, her eyes wide with wonder as she gazed at me.
Unable to contain my joy, I grinned at her, basking in the warmth of her admiration.
"You're so amazing, and I love you so much!" Amanda's words filled me with a rush of emotion as she pressed her lips to mine, our love transcending the chaos around us.
With a radiant smile, I returned her affection, our bond strengthened by the trials we had overcome together. As we watched Akko and Diana destroy the missile, our cheers rang out, united in triumph and solidarity.
