Mailins pov
In the midst of our screams, we tumbled from our brooms as the Leyline vanished, plunging us into darkness. The impact with the ground was jarring, leaving us all groaning in pain.
"Ow, ow, ow..." The chorus of discomfort echoed through the air as we struggled to gather our bearings.
"Hold on a sec! This looks like the forest of Arcturus!" Akko's realization cut through the confusion, prompting us to survey our surroundings with a mix of surprise and bewilderment.
"Seriously?!" Diana's exasperated voice rang out, tinged with annoyance.
"It feels more like a haunted house than a forest," Amanda remarked dryly. "Let's get moving."
She helped me to my feet, her attempt to take flight on her broom met with puzzling failure.
"What the...?!" Amanda's confusion mirrored my own as she inspected her broom.
"Hmm..." Diana pondered, scrutinizing her wand. "It appears there's no magical energy in the vicinity."
"With the Leyline disappearing and now this? Something's definitely amiss," Lotte observed, her tone reflecting a mix of concern and curiosity.
"Look over there!" Akko's sudden exclamation drew our attention to three white stripes streaking across the sky.
"What's that?" Sucy queried, her gaze fixed on the mysterious sight.
"I'm willing to wager it's connected to all of this," Diana surmised, her voice laced with determination.
"Let's go!" Akko declared, her resolve palpable as she rose to her feet, urging us forward.
We trailed the white stripes until they led us to a harrowing sight. There, before us, Professor Ursula and Chariot were under attack by a colossal, crimson-glowing monster. Its gaping maw loomed dangerously close to devouring Chariot whole.
Without hesitation, Akko and Diana seized the shiny rod, shouting "MUROWA!" in unison. The magical blast struck the beast, forcing it to release Chariot from its grasp.
"Professor!" Akko's voice rang out, filled with concern.
"Akko!" Chariot called back as she landed safely.
"What a chaotic situation," Amanda remarked, her tone reflecting a mix of disbelief and concern as we stood alongside the others, witnessing the unfolding events.
"This doesn't bode well," Sucy observed dryly, her expression reflecting the gravity of the situation.
"What should we do?" Lotte's voice trembled with panic. "This is incredibly dangerous!"
Professor Croix, in a frantic effort, typed away on her device, but the monster closed in on her, poised to strike.
"Croix!" Chariot's cry filled with urgency as she pushed her out of harm's way.
We gasped in horror as the monster swallowed Chariot whole, leaving us stunned by the sudden turn of events.
"Recite the words!" Chariot's plea echoed in the air.
With a determined gasp, Akko's rod illuminated, and she recited the incantation: "Noctu Orfei... Aude... Fraetor!"
"Shiny... Arc!" Akko's voice echoed with determination as she invoked the incantation, causing the rod to undergo a magnificent transformation. With a swift motion, she released an arrow that pierced through the monster's head, triggering a resounding explosion that reverberated through the air.
"Alright! Akko really did it!" Amanda's cheer rang out, echoing the relief and admiration we all felt.
