Chapter 5 - Day Out

-The Next Day-

Demi’s Pov

When we got home last night, it was quite late, not too late, but I was tired so we decided to go home and have some dinner before going to bed. It truly was strange seeing the baby move but not be able to feel it; sometimes it’s even hard to believe that it’s really inside of me.

I woke up late, I guess I really was tired; Joe was already up; well I’m guessing he is because he’s not in bed.

 I got up and wrapped a dressing gown around me, for some reason I was cold; I walking downstairs to find Joe making pancakes in the kitchen. “Morning” I said as I walked in

“Morning babe” he replied

“Mmm, yummy pancakes” I said reaching for a glass to get myself a drink of water; I opened the packet of Folic Acid tablets and took one with some water.

Joe continued making pancakes and placing them onto one plate so in the end there was a big stack, he then carried that into the dining room and set it down in the middle of the table. I brought in 2 more plates and we sat down opposite each other and took a pancake each.

“These are really good” I said after finishing my first mouthful

“Why, thank-you” he replied

We each took a couple more mouthfuls and just sat there in silence, Joe then asked “What would you like to do today?”

“Well, I would like to go and see my mom, it’s Saturday so she won’t have work, and I think it would be nice for her to see the scan photo”

“Yeah, sounds like a good idea”

We finished eating our breakfast and then I went up to go and get changed; I got dressed in a lilac dress and a black cardigan with some black shoes that had a little heel. I walked out of our room and went downstairs, Joe had just finished doing the washing up and was just about to head upstairs to get ready, “I’m just going to ring my mom babe” I said

He pecked me on the lips and said “Okay, I’ll be down in a minute”

“Okay” I replied grabbing my phone and dialling my mom’s number

Joe pecked my lips once more and then went upstairs to get ready

 “Hi mom” I said when she answered

 “Hey Demi”

“Mom, Joe and I were wondering whether it is okay if we come round and visit, we have something to show you”

“Yes, sure Dems, you know you are always welcome, I can’t wait to see what you have to show me” she said sounding excited

“Joe is just getting dressed, so we could be round in about half an hour?” I said almost asking to make sure it was still okay.

“Sounds great!” mom replied

“Okay we’ll see you then”

“Okay, bye, cya soon” she said before putting the phone down

I put my phone back in my bag and then called up the stairs at Joe, “Mom said that is great, are you nearly ready?”

“Yeah, I’ll be down in a minute” he shouted back

5 minutes later Joe walked down the stairs dressed in a pair of jeans and a casual top “you ready?” he asked looking at me

“Yeah, let’s go” I said “Oh, wait a sec” I said running into the kitchen and grabbing the scan photo off the fridge “We can’t forget this", I said showing the photo to Joe.
