As I sighed for what felt like the hundredth time that day, I couldn't help but feel overwhelmed. Midterms were looming, and I was struggling to balance school and work. The sun's rays streaming through my window only seemed to highlight my exhaustion. I decided to take a break and head to the library, hoping some fresh air and a change of scenery would help me focus.
The city was lively and busy. Pedestrians trudged around the area, all going to their respective places. Some dressed in cooperate attires, some casual and others creative.
The walk to the library was pleasant, with the bustling city streets providing a gentle distraction from my worries. As I pushed open the library door, the familiar bell above it rang out, and I waved at the librarian, who returned my greeting with a warm smile.
I scanned the room, spotting a few familiar faces among the scattered students. After finding an empty seat, I settled in, determined to make the most of my study session.
Just as I was getting into my work, 'Ding' the familiar chime of bell rang through the library for the second time since I got here. Pausing my work for a brief moment, I moved my gaze to the door, wanting to get a glimpse of who just walked in. The library door swung open and a tall, handsome man walked in. Our eyes met, and I felt a jolt of surprise as he smiled apologetically.
"Sorry about that," he said, his voice low and smooth.
"Can I sit here?"
I nodded, feeling a little flustered.
"Uh, sure."
He chuckled and sat down beside me, his proximity making me feel a little self-conscious. I returned to my work, trying to focus on the quadratic equation in front of me.
As I struggled to make sense of the numbers and symbols, the man beside me spoke up.
"You good?" he asked, his brow furrowed in concern.
I let out a frustrated sigh.
"Not really. Any chance you're a math genius?" I asked, feeling a little embarrassed.
He laughed and leaned in, his eyes scanning the textbook.
"Not a genius, but I can try to help."
"So,here's how you do it. The formula is....."his voice dissolving Into a puddle of nothingness as I stared into his soul, observing his every move.
"And then you.."
He continued, his eyebrows furrowing showing how concentrated he was.
As he began to explain the concept, I found myself getting lost in his words. His voice was soothing, and his eyes sparkled with intelligence. I couldn't help but notice the way his lips curved into a gentle smile as he spoke, taking my time to admire him.
He had plump lips that made a little pout when he stopped talking which seems weird but is quite cute. His nose perfectly curved upward, his glasses effortlessly resting on it. His jawline chiseled and his cheekbone prominent. He was the definition of brains and beauty.
Before I knew it, he'd finished explaining the concept, and I was left feeling a little bewildered.
"And that's your answer," he said, looking at me expectantly.
He let out a breathy laugh.
"You weren't paying attention, were you?" he teased.
I shook my head, feeling a little embarrassed.
"I'm sorry. I should've paid attention."
He smiled kindly. "You're really smart," he said, nodding towards my notes.
I felt my face grow hot again.
 "Oh, thank you."
He leaned back, mumbling something along the lines of-
"You're also really pretty."
I blushed wildly, feeling my heart skip a beat.
"Thank you," I stammered.
He looked taken aback, realizing I'd heard his whispered comment.
"You heard that?" he asked, his eyes wide with surprise.
I chuckled, feeling a little more at ease.
"Yeah."
" I didn't mean for it to come creepily, I'm sorry if you're offended." He rambled on as I laughed at his cuteness.
He looked relieved, and we introduced ourselves. I learned his name was Namjoon, and we exchanged numbers.
As he prepared to leave, he smiled at me.
"Our lesson will have to be cut short. Maybe we could meet up again?" he asked, his eyes sparkling with interest.
I agreed, and he handed me a piece of paper with his number on it. As he walked out of the library, he turned back to me, making a 'call me' gesture with his fingers, followed by a cheeky wink.
I watched him go, feeling a little dazed but also excited. Who was this charming stranger, and what did he want from me?
As I sat there, trying to process what had just happened, I couldn't help but feel a spark of attraction. There was something about Namjoon that drew me in, something that made me want to get to know him better.
I smiled to myself, feeling a sense of anticipation. Maybe this chance encounter would lead to something more. Maybe Namjoon would turn out to be more than just a handsome stranger.
I gathered my things and left the library, feeling a sense of excitement for the first time in weeks. As I walked back to my apartment, I couldn't help but wonder what the future held for Namjoon and me.
